Nadia: sooo you're going to risk actual death?
Selina: no but I’m too cold to move
Nadia: :( girl, it's not safe to stay there
Nadia: you could seriously get too cold.

Nadia: I volunteer, but you'll have to get your butt down to the shelter :P
Selina: so far and so cold though!
Nadia: sooo you're going to risk actual death?
wcvingtheflag:
“They should have given us more time to move the patients” The flickering power and all the havoc it was causing for healthcare faction and those that relied on them to keep them alive “they’ll blame all the deaths on us though.”
Nadia swore irreverently, knowing that what the older woman said was true. “Everyone will get WPS deducted, as if we were supposed to predict the weather ourselves.” The entire city seemed to be shuffling toward one storm shelter, and the line of people waiting to get in reached for at least a quarter of a mile. “We’re going to freeze before we even get down there, and the patients who couldn’t come on their own are all going to be dead by the time we get back. This is absolute shit.”

Selina: my power went out and I’m cold. I need someone to cuddle with 😩
Nadia: I volunteer, but you'll have to get your butt down to the shelter :P
“Did you see that?” Nadia looked in mild horror toward the capital building. She could’ve sworn she saw the lights flicker. “They should’ve sent us to the shelters earlier, this is getting out of hand.”

Best Kept Secrets
inplcinsight
Schooling her features like a true professional Alice barely flinches at the mention of the Red Hawks, her expression remains kind and welcoming though beneath it hides the fear clenching at her stomach. “I’ve heard whispering about them, yes” She responds carefully, her brown hues trying to read Nadia for what was coming next. Preparing herself for the worst outcome and all the plans she had in place for it.
Even if Alice had flinched, Nadia wouldn’t have noticed. She was totally lost in her own despair, her heart in pieces as she thought about her brother. It was stupid to tell anyone - let alone a teacher - about her brother’s secret. It wouldn’t only implicate him, it would reveal Nadia as a criminal for keeping the secret as well. She buried her face against her knees, unable to look the other woman in the eye. “The whispers are right. My brother’s a member. He’s - he’s part of the rebellion.”
Phoebe gave a small sigh as she saw the person approaching her she was right in the middle of servicing one of the military vehicles and the last thing she needed was any disruptions or distractions. “I’m busy, what do you want?”
“Oh?” Nadia leaned against the military vehicle, her eyes flitting around the service area. “I was actually looking for one of my friends. If you’re really that busy, I can go and find her, but I figured I’d at least stop by and say hello while I was here.”

Best Kept Secrets
inplcinsight:
Whether Alice found out the reason for Nadia’s off mood wasn’t even remotely a priority, she was more than happy just to support her friend when it was needed. Pouring out her own drink Alice’s brown hues flick over the huddled form of the brunette beside her, offering a reassuring smile “My mouth is sealed, it will be safe with me Nadia. I swear.” Alice had always been good at keeping secrets, her skills had certainly be honed where the Red Hawks were concerned but there was also the matter of the buried items and the pills that she had managed to keep from everyone.
Nadia swallowed, her green eyes searching Alice’s face for any hint of dishonesty. She was tired of keeping secrets, tired of having to deal with the weight of her worry on her own. It felt like she was standing on the edge of a cliff, just waiting for the wind to come and sweep her away. “Have you heard of the rebellion?” her soft voice was barely audible, even in the stillness of the apartment. “That group, the one the government says was eradicated years ago?”
Best Kept Secrets
Nadia hadn’t been drinking, but her mind felt just as hazy as moonshine made her. She hadn’t spoken to her brother in weeks. It wasn’t as if she knew what he was up to. All she could do was speculate - and speculating made everything worse. With her knees drawn to her chest, she rested her head on them, looking sideways at Alice. “Can you keep a secret?” She asked quietly, almost afraid that if she spoke too loudly, the words would somehow leave the room. “A big one. One you have to take to your grave.” @inplcinsight
