French Leopard Trail (Taken with Instagram)
This is Mavala -Bronze Green, with Nails Inc - The Donmar then finished with a matte topcoat.
I Don't Give a Rotterdam! is from OPI's Holland Collection, and it's a pale, slate blue, with a gold shimmer.
It wasn't a polish that really stood out for me from looking at them online, it always seemed a bit 'meh' in swatches, and definitely wasn't one I was planning on buying. They had the collection in Sallys though, and wow, the colour looks completely different to what I had thought, it's gorgeous! I was instantly won over.
The application of it was so lovely! It also had a surprisingly fast drying time which I really liked as well. It feels very 'denim-y' to me, and it's so unusual. I'm loving wearing it, and I can see me wearing it a lot especially in winter and spring/early summer.
I'm becoming obsessed with leopard print! The base is MaxFactors Juicy Plum, and the spots are MaxFactors Chilled Lilac.
These are my nails just now. It's the middle of my exams just now, so I've not had much time to do anything that fancy on them, and I just wanted something neutral. I used Nails Inc George Street, which is a pale pink-nude, it was super pretty on it's own, but I was in a sparkly mood when I was painting them, so decided to add a coat of Nails Inc Electric Lane Holographic topcoat, which is AMAZING! So glittery, and it really makes your nails 'pop'.
Leighton Denny - Sophisticated
I think Leighton Denny is definitely my favorite brand of nail polish, and this on one of my all time favourite colours. It's a gorgeous lilac-purple creme, with a very subtle blue sheen in some lights. It dries quickly, and has an amazing shine even without using a topcoat. It also has brilliant staying power, and is pretty much un-chippable! 100% opake in two coats, no streaks, I really can't find anything bad to say about this colour, it's perfect.
It's for sure one of my favourite colours to wear.
OPI - My Address is 'Hollywood'
This colour is from OPI's Touring America collection from last autumn, and all I can think when I see it is 'gorgeous!' It's the perfect pink, with just the right amount of golden shimmer through it to make it just that little bit different. Sadly though the shimmer didn't photograph very well.
Unlike other reviews of it I've seen, the consistency of mine was brilliant, with no streaking and it only needed two coats.
Overall I really loved this polish, and I've had it in my collection for awhile and been really excited to try it out, and it's safe to say it didn't disappoint. I can't wait to wear it again!
So this is how my nails are just now. I used Nails Inc Summer Place for the yellow base, and Wellington Square is the peachy colour I used for my 'spots'. The black I used was just a random one I had lying around the house, and I finished it all off with Nails Inc Westminster Bridge matte top coat.
I actually really like this, it was meant to be leopard print, but looking at it now, the colour makes it look a little more giraffe like.
My nails inc order arrived on Thursday! I'm really pleased with all the colours I got, which is unusual for me. I've not had a chance to try many of them out yet though, as I've been super busy this week!
So from left to right..
Firstly I got the Electric Lane Holographic top coat, which I'm super pleased with! It's been ages since I've used glitter. Then there's Westminster Bridge matte top coat, which I can safely say I've fallen in love with! I'm wearing it on my nails just now, and it creates a very unique different look.
I'm a sucker for purples and nudes, so I picked up Pembroke Close, which is a gorgeous purple-blue, and George Street, a lovely pinkish nude. They were both only £5 as well, so I though that was a perfect bargain.
I was wanting to try the overglaze topcoat for ages, and I eventually decided to go for The Donmar, which has green-blue specks in it. It looks amazing with the matte top coat! Ever since I've seen their newest additions to their Magnetic collection, I knew I just had to get this amazing raspberry one! It's such a nice colour.
Then finally I opted for The A-Listers collection which has four taupe shades, all of which are so lovely, and very different to all other 'greige' colours I've seen.
I also got two of their free gift sets that are currently being offered, they contain two full size polishes, a nail file and a matching bag. The first colour option comes with a yummy sorbet yellow, and peach, and the second with a really nice silver, and their purple crackle topcoat. I don't have any photos of them, but I'll try and get some on soon, and hopefully I'll get a chance to review and swatch everything soon, but I only painted my nails last night, and I love how they look, so I'm hesitant to take it off yet!
Goodbye self-control.
So since the start of the year, my obsession with buying nail varnish, has been kept under control, and I've not added any to my excessive collection. My mum did get me a Nails inc. collection, and a Malava collection for my birthday but I didn't buy them, so they don't count, right? I'll just keep telling myself that anyway. My self-control was destroyed this afternoon though when I took a wander over to the Nails inc. website.
They have a super deal on just now, which is when you spend £35, you get a free gift which includes two full size polishes, a nail file, and a little bag which is always useful for going away anyway or just for storage! I split what I was ordering into two orders so now I'll be getting two free gifts, in different colour options!
I finally decided upon the A-Listers collection which has a selection of four beiges/greys, as I've been lusting over it for ages! I'm still stuck in the 'greige' trend, no complaints there though! Then I went for their version of the matte topcoat, which is also something I've been wanting to try for ages! I really love the matte look on nails, and I'm really excited to try this over metallics.
I'm a huge fan of their magnetic polishes, and as soon as I saw that they had released one in a raspberry colour, I knew I just had to try it! All the other colours I've tried are fantastic, and no other brand I've tried has really achieved such a good effect, so I'm hoping this one won't be an exception.
Then I decided to give two of their special effects top-coats a try. I've never really given these kind of polishes a proper try, as I felt it always made my nails look very childish. However I've heard nothing but praise for the Nails inc. ones, so decided to give them a try. I got the 'Electric Lane holographic top coat' and 'Donmar overglaze top coat'. The swatches I've seen of them online look lovely, so I'll need to give them a good try when they arrive.
Hopefully they'll arrive soon, so I can do some experimenting!
I figured I'd do something sweet and simple for my first post, so I've done a nude and gold manicure which I am in love with!
I used Nails inc. Basil Street for my base. I received it last month for my birthday and haven't had an opportunity to try it out yet. It's very subtle, and is a perfect pale toffee colour that reminds me a little of Leighton Denny's Brief Encounter. It looks so yummy and went on perfect and smooth as is typical with Nails inc. nail polishes.
For the tips I used Leighton Denny's Liquid Gold, which is another polish I haven't previously had a chance to use. I got it as part of a QVC Todays Special Value at the end of last year, and sadly I don't think it's available to buy on it's own. It's a gorgeous soft muted gold, and I have completely and utterly fallen in love with it.
