Nani smirked up at him, “Well I thought about you all day out on the water. I missed that gorgeous tan you get from surfing.” She kissed him back and brushed her thumb over his cheek as he held her tenderly. It was blissful to be in bed with Kyle again. He made her feel like no one else in the world existed when he held her and kissed her like that.

Rae didn’t see it coming, but at the coffee shop, she received flowered with a card from Stitch. It was super sweet of him. She got teased by her co-workers for a little bit because they knew she wasn’t a mushy person, but it was nice for them seeing that Chris got her something. After work, she used her free drink to get Stitch his favorite from the shop and got a dessert for herself using her employee discount. She waved goodbye and clocked out. Securing the flowers and treats in the basket on her motor bike, she took off for home.

She parked and pulled the items from the enclosed basket, humming one of her favorite songs as she went up to the loft. She unlocked the door, breathing in the scent of food. She didn’t know what it was, but it smelled amazing. “Babe I’m home and it smells wonderful in here,” she called, making her way towards the kitchen with his drink. “I got you something.”

Chris was busy making the food when she strolled into the loft and called out to him. He panicked and ran out to her, “Rae!” He kissed her cheek and then slowed down enough to kiss her lips. “Hello my beauty. Happy Birthday and can I interest you in some painting?” He guided her to the easel and sat her down then realized she still had his drink in her hand. “Why thank you.” He gently took it from her hand and gave her another kiss on the cheek then ran into the kitchen. “Dinner is a surprise so don’t you dare come in here Miss!” He called out to her. He didn’t want her to have a fit at him going the extra mile for dinner.

“I do,” he nodded, blushing lightly. “A little wild, but I love her, and I promise I’m a gentleman. The last adventure we went on was pretty amazing. We saw bugs that were like fireflies, but their lights were more green than yellow so we mostly sat them near leaves.”

Kai shook her head laughing, “You guys are so cute I swear it hurts me.” She sighed as he finished telling her about the adventure. “I sometimes think that you guys go on more adventures than the rest of us. It isn’t fair Jare.” She pat his arm gently and asked, “So is that it? Need any more help, buddy?”

Kai chuckled at that, “Well you’re right. You get a good workout. I think also maybe from Mo.” She winked at him. “That girl can be a little wild.” Kai was mostly joking but Jared was a good guy.

Birthday Wishes|| Chrae

Stitch had been preparing all day for dinner with Rae. He knew she fronted that she wasn’t a birthday type of woman but he wanted to give her a memorable night. She deserved it. He was making her favorite dinner of eggplant parmigiana with angel hair pasta in sauce with extra cheese topped with sauteed shrimp, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. It had taken some serious snooping to discover what she truly wanted because she wasn’t for all these birthday sorts of things. He had gotten all the ingredients and had a few recipes pulled up on his phone. He surprisingly wasn’t a bad cook so he was glad to make her something she truly loved. He had made eggplant parmigiana before so he just needed to execute the rest of the recipe with ease.

Amidst all his planning and cooking however he did manage to send some flowers to her work and embarrass her a little. He delighted in her getting a little attention at work for her birthday but didn’t want to make her too mad, otherwise she wouldn’t agree to all this. He had been so wrapped up in everything he didn’t watch the time so he had no idea Rae was coming home. He only heard the door unlock and he panicked because he still hadn’t put the pasta in. “Oh no! Rae!” He said hurriedly hiding the food and making sure the water was set next to her easel for the paints.
