Thank you for waiting patiently for the beginning of this tournament! Welcome to the next poll tournament I'll be hosting on this blog, the Best Fairy Godparent poll!
Criteria for characters to be accepted:
A character from a fairytale that is a fairy godparent or falls into that role (ex. the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, the Good Fairies from Sleeping Beauty, the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, etc.)
A character from a fairytale adaptation who is adapted from a fairy godparent character, even if it is a non-magical character in a non-magical adaptation (ex. Leonardo Da Vinci from Ever After, Rhonda from A Cinderella Story, etc.)
A character from a fairytale adaptation that is broadly a fairy godparent, even if they aren't specifically based on a single fairy godparent (ex. the Fairy Godmother from Shrek 2, Scary Godmother from Scary Godmother, etc.)
A character from a non-fairytale media that is not based on a fairytale but is a fairy godparent (ex. Cosmo & Wanda from Fairly Oddparents, etc.)
Rules for Submission:
Though fairy godmothers are more common than other kinds of fairy godparents, any gendered fairy godparent will be accepted for the tournament! I will try my best to always refer to this as a fairy godparent poll, but if I accidentally call it a fairy godmother poll ever just take it as a mistake and fill it in as fairy godparent!
No unofficial characters (fan characters, OCs, tumblr posts, etc)
No real people. I think this goes without saying, but just in case.
Submit as many characters as you want, but do not submit the same character multiple times. If I realize you've done this, I will ban the character from the tournament.
I have the right to reject any character if they make me uncomfortable or I think it's from problematic media.
The goal is a 32- or 64-bracket, single-elimination. I don't really have enough time or energy to do a 128-bracket, and besides, I don't think we will get enough submissions for a 128-bracket for this particular tourney anyway.
There might be some gray area between a character in a fairytale adaptation that is a fairy godmother vs. someone who falls into the role of the animal companions (Gustave from Ever After or Carter from A Cinderella Story would fall into animal companions adaptation to me, for example). In cases when a character is submitted that I think are animal companion adaptations instead of fairy godparent adaptations, I'll try to be clear and explain why I judged it the way that I did.

Submit a Femslash ship and (if you want) propaganda through ask or submit a post.
Any and all femslash ship counts. Canon? Fanon? Crossover? Polyamory? It all counts so long as it's femslash. If the ship has a ship name, make sure to include it in your submission.

ummm im not gonna put info about bpd here because i dont have the energy for that rn and I don't really like a lot of the definitions online lol. if you're interested in this tournament you probably either have it or know enough

rules:
- YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE BPD TO PARTICIPATE/SUBMIT. all I ask is that you have some kind of background knowledge on it- if you have friends or partners with bpd, if you've done reliable research on it because you wondered if you had it, or otherwise, you're welcome to submit.
- in that vein, if you're weird about cluster b disorders or personality disorders in general, please leave.
- no real people, characters from live action movies are okay but no real people
- nobody from the movie "girl, interrupted". that movie was hugely triggering for me is all. (this doesn't mean you have to think about whether a movie you submitted someone from would be triggering to me as well, I likely haven't watched it, just nothing from this movie specifically)
- characters do not have to have BPD canonically, it can be headcanon, but I'd prefer if you explain the headcanon. Don't worry about spoilers, I'll tag them if necessary (you should probably tell me if they're spoilers) but I'm not worried about seeing them in submissions.
- don't try to muddle the waters of canon/headcanon please it's very frustrating. no marking canon on the form because "well it's never been outright confirmed but it's so implied it's basically canon" none of that. it's canon if it has been explicitly stated in the writing of the media or by its creators somewhere. you are totally welcome to ask if a certain thing counts as canon confirmation if you're not sure, just please don't mark canon if it's a headcanon. (sorry about the insistence on this rule I've just had other experiences with it and it's soooo irritating.)
- please try to avoid harmful stereotypes when submitting ^^
- askbox is for propaganda and other commentary, not submissions!! submission form is linked a little ways below :3
- joke submissions are totally allowed. they won't be put in the bracket but we love to get sillay
- vote based on whatever you like. whichever has the most convincing propaganda, whoever's your fave, whoever you think is prettier, whoever you think is uglier, hell, whoever you think would win in a fistfight, idk. just have fun
- be nice & have fun!!
other info:
- it's been like 2 years since I ran a tournament so I might forget stuff. it'll also probably run a little slower
- bracket will be decided by the amount of characters with the most submissions first, then when/if I get down to several characters that only have one submission, I'll decide based on how convincing the propaganda/reasoning is
- matchups will be decided mostly at random, but I'll try to keep it as fair as possible. primarily I'll do my best not to pit canon bpd characters against headcanon but no promises because idk how many I'll get of each
- there'll be no two characters in the bracket from the same source media
- ame-chan (needy streamer overload) is pre-included in the bracket. there were other characters I wanted to pre-include but none that I didn't have reservations about so. she's lonely in there get some other submissions!!!

congrats Toph for winning! Even though Poppy lost, I’m sure she’d be glad to know that a favorite character of mine won :)
Funny thing is my other dog Bagel has an arrow on his forehead like Aang! It’s faded with age, but he’s still our dogatar (dog avatar)
Poppy also has a spot on her forehead that reminds me of the episode where Sokka kept hitting his forehead, and by the end of the episode he had a spot on his forehead from when he kept hitting it
(This is an older picture so Poppy looks much thinner here, she was VERY underweight when we first got her. She’s at a healthy weight now, don’t worry about her!)

However, I had another look just in case recently... and it looks like he's going to be known as Cai in the children book focused on him that should go out this Summer. According to the wiki, "if he shares the same last name as his son Lau Gan-Lan, That would make his name "Cai Gan-Lan", a play on "gan-lan cai", the name of a vegetable dish."
Here was the original propaganda : "he is a cultural icon and you know him even if you haven't seen atla just through the power of internet osmosis (me im the example)"
Yuri's a word used to describe manga/anime centred around WLW romance
White lilies are a symbol of the genre

Hello and welcome to tournament where you can watch you watch your favorite ginger characters duke it out!
Some rules:
I am drawing a line between redheads and gingers. Ginger hair is more orange, so please don't submit characters whose hair is more red. (With animated characters, this is pretty obvious. For live action characters, it can be harder, but go with your gut. If you aren't sure, send me a note in the submission and I can make a judgment)
I'm not taking characters that have red-orange hair as it's too up in air as whether that's a ginger
The only franchise I phase out submissions for is Harry Potter
