vera's default look in term of clothing & hair is very close to or at least very reminiscent of the mid to late 1920s & very early 1930s. generally she blends in just well enough with how she dresses and her 'unfashionable' choices are often attributed to her being a creative mind with peculiar tastes.

it is important to know she has this specific style because the time period was the one where she was truly & utterly at her happiest. she had a husband, her young son, and her best friend. she had so much happiness surrounded by those three people she loved the most.
