Well, this was going to be explained in the comic itself but it's gonna take a while before I make another part whoops

The whole King's deal is kind of a legend in the rat folklore (their species), where in exchange of their kind being able to rise and gain some respect among the other creatures, they must have to please the King's request (allow the Prince to exist), but since the last apparition of the Prince was catastrophic, they decided to cut the Prince's tail every time it was born, after all they didn't need anymore the King's help, but this only made them piss off

You may get an idea of where the plot is going. So yeah, it's not the dusk curse

Pencil, Pen and Marker used to live together, then Match also came to live with them after being brought by Pencil. She used to not really like the rules of her den so she often would do stuff she shouldn't, as walking really far from it, and Match used to follow her too.

One day they both went out to the forest late at night, Match tried to stop her but she couldn't and Pencil just kept going without her. At the end Match followed her but at that moment she already disappeared and was attacked by Firey, leaving that burn on her face.

Now, she along with Pen and Marker are looking for her. Match was obligated out of guilt and being the last one to see her

(I might have misinterpreted this but didn’t you say pen got into debt with the bounty hunter leader aka blocky?))

three—does pen feel any guilt as to what happened to his older sister, and does marker ever ask pen about her??

1. They kinda get along. When they first met Pen didn't really like Eraser since he was Blocky's right hand and often bossed him around. As time passed, they started to be more like friends, even if Pen sometimes still didn't like his brute personality.

2. Yes, Pen is in debt with Blocky. After Pencil disappeared, he reached out to Blocky to help him and Marker find her. He accepted, but in exchange both of them would have to work for him in the meanwhile. Pen doesn't like him since most of the things he asks them to do clashes with his morals

3. Pen is not guilty of what happened, he's even a little upset at her for being so reckless (and a bit with Match too) but he's more concerned than anything. Sometimes Marker also wonders about what happened to her, but he's more chill about it

4. He's doing alrightttt, a bit distressed but going through it

yes, they would be humans (or other kind of creatures) from another dimension that were messing up with magic and accidentally getting teleported and trapped inside this world, now focusing to explore and try to find a way to go back, and like everyone else they wouldn't be immune to being cursed

the dimension where they'd come from would be like davidland

he served as a knight along with Needle, Naily, Nickel and others in a guild. A discussion made his group split up and he got betrayed by one of them, leading to end up like Pin found him years later

basically he looked less spiky and clean with almost no oxidation

Dusk was created by @namelessclient and i love their artstyle so much! it's inspired aspects of my style and the way i draw and it's just art perfection honestly

The Prince has also inspired me to make folk tales of my own and i don't think there are human words that accurately convey how much i love it. i've memorised it for god's sake. autism powers ACTIVATE

When she arrived to the forest she was not alone, and she was not the first as the ones like her. There it was another faun, eldest and wiser.

He taught her everything he knew: music, the good wine, how to talk with the animals; everything about the forest. She listened every word from his mouth, never really questioning his knowledge.

But one day he was wrong, facing something he didn't know about within the woods. His pride didn't let him acknowledge his mistake, and she instead of intervene, believed him until the end.

He paid dearly for it. She was left alone, wiser but grieving it.

Now as the only "warden of the forest", she felt responsible of preventing others to have such a grim fate, always thinking she was the only one indicated for that. She did it for honor, a good cause, and hoping to one day see her friend again.

But she wasn't free from how easily one can fall into temptations.
