Day 26: knight

For as simple as it looks, I put a lot of thought into it.

The white glow behind the hollow knight represents the pale king. How his actions wanted to space a specific form, idea, but it overshoes what is already there. The lines that define the shape of the hollow knight are little individuality it had left.

Now lace, she is a character whom I have a specific interpretation of. I think she was driven mad in part due to her construction ("better a child spun mad"), but also the isolation. Lace to me feels jealous of Hornet because she believes GMS wants Hornet as a child over her, when in reality GMS wants hornet as essentially a battery. So lace spends so long trying to be GMS' perfect child only... for silence. Within her grows this darkness, she starts to see herself as not alive.

One child who was forced to view themselves as nothing under the pressure of their father. Another child saw themselves as nothing due to their mother's involuntary silence.
