A brief cover in honor of Lesley Gore, whose indelibly defiant song “You Don’t Own Me” debuted on this day 58 years ago, when Lesley was 17. In a 2005 interview, she said of this song that it “has a new meaning every time you sing it.” Give it a try sometime and you’ll see what she means. It’s an incredibly powerful statement and I’m so glad we have it.
This version features atmospherics from my infernal machine, the Jitter Getter.
