here is one reason why stancy would never work. nancy is always tense and uncomfortable whenever they are alone. too many awkward pauses that many people mistake for romantic tension. jancy on the other hand, they don’t need to even speak to express their comfort. they can sit in silence and it would be peaceful. same with ronance. they are awkward in a different way. they are getting to know each other but it’s still comforting. nancy can’t be herself with steve. she will never be comfortable with him the way she is with jonathan and robin.
