I’m really happy this episode showed us a lot about Mari even though she can be very blunt I think this episode did a really good job showing the relationship she had with her mom and how that effects her very straightforward thought process

Even though it can seem like she is being a bit harsh to Lara I like how that bluntness is also the same reason why she seems very unfazed by the fact that she has a literal mermaid in her room haha ya know what I mean?

Getting to spend that time in Mari’s head all episode really made that last scene so great you can pretty much see the exact time she gains a bit of respect for Lara

Goodbye Lara is definitely gunna punch me in the feels but Lara is just such a cutieee I hope for only good things for her (the plot is gunna put her through it) also I love Mari’s design can’t wait to find out more about her plus love to see a fighter

Yldpfg (as I’m choosing to shorten it) was hilarious the 1st mc is lowkey a chunii while the 2nd mc I just in it for the love of the game gotta love the dynamic

Lowell Bair's translation of Gaston Leroux’s novel is the only reason I like this thing. De Mattos’s translation made me think the whole story sucked, and Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical is ... solid but still sounds to me like Mom Music (the broadway release was on my birth year and I still punch the wall of my room that has the Into the Woods poster on it as I seethe “it shouldve been you!”)

But what I will say in favor of the ALW musical: SO 👏 MUCH 👏 MOAR 👏 YURI DUTY compared to the novel

Also kinda funny story: because seeing the ALW musical version on a school trip was my first time seeing it it did mean that with that version of the phantom in my mind and then seeing this one really (uhh how do I put this nicely) codependent extremely clingy couple (you know the type)be dressed up as the phantom and Christine did make it appear as comedy gold to me and my friends at the time
