🕊 Three-Minute Devotional: “Be Still and Know That I Am God” (Psalm 46:10)
In the rush of life—when the noise around us is constant and chaos creeps into our minds and hearts—God gives a simple yet powerful command: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
This isn’t just about pausing physically. The Hebrew word raphah used here means to stop striving, to let go, to loosen your grip. It’s a call to surrender—not in weakness, but in trust. It’s God saying, “Let Me carry this. Let Me be God in your situation.”
When everything feels like it’s spinning out of control, stillness is not passivity—it’s spiritual clarity. It’s where faith rises. It’s where battles are fought not with our own strength but in the presence of Jesus, who calmed storms with a word.
In stillness, we tear down the altars we’ve built to fear, pride, control, or human strength. In Jesus’ name, we rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells us we’re alone, forgotten, or defeated. Stillness is not absence—it’s the presence of the Holy Spirit, who speaks truth, brings peace, and reveals the Father’s heart.
God doesn’t ask you to figure it all out. He asks you to stop, be still, and know—deep in your spirit—that He is sovereign, He is near, and He is in control.
So today, let this be your invitation:
• Identify what you’re trying to hold together on your own.
• Create sacred space for stillness.
• Surrender your fears, anxieties, and attempts to fix everything.
• Remember the faithfulness of Jesus—how He showed up before, and how He never changes.
Turn things over to God—and leave them there. He is not only able, He is willing.
⸻
🙏 Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
We quiet our hearts before You. In a world full of noise and striving, we choose to be still. We let go of control, of fear, of everything we’re trying to manage in our own strength.
Jesus, we welcome Your presence. In Your name, we tear down every altar we’ve built to fear, self-reliance, and distraction. We rebuke the voice of the enemy that speaks doubt, anxiety, and discouragement over our lives. Let every demonic influence be silenced by the authority of Your name.
Holy Spirit, guide us. Speak in the silence. Reveal the areas we need to surrender. Fill the space we’ve cleared with peace, wisdom, and power. Teach us to trust You deeply and rest in Your love.
Today, we lay our burdens down. We turn them over to You—and we leave them there. Because You are God, and You are good.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
