That's a really good question, I had to think about it for a while

While it has a lot of narrative significance, Peko's relationship with Fuyuhiko mostly gets played for Fuyuhiko's development. It makes sense given the nature of the existing plot, but I wish we could have seen more of Peko's side, and in a more natural setting. Maybe we'll get lucky in 2x2

Also Miu and Keebo's relationship as a whole. Both of them are mostly played for laughs, and whatever is going on between them is no exception. It's a shame, because they're both fairly unusual characters, and if their relationship was taken even a little bit more seriously I think it could have been extremely interesting

Mukuro x Mikan is my favorite rarepair, which baffles me because how are they a rarepair? How is this not an incredibly obvious pairing to more people? One of them is Junko's sister/lackey, the other is Junko's girlfriend/footstool. There's so much narrative potential here. They could bond over time while Ultimate Despair flourishes, connect over the fact that no one knows better than them how awful and coercive Junko can be, grow uncomfortable with how the other gets treated, hatch escape plans that fall into the wrong hands ...

I think it's mostly that the average fan doesn't seem to consider cross-game ships at all. This isn't helped by how many people forget Mukuro is actually a real character, and actually shows up in the games

Hawooo… thoughts about Mikan x Mukuro as a ship??? Exuse me for my lil brainrot which just leaked in your ask box but I just think that there’s such a potential between them. In my head they’re both was suppressed (Mikan by society, Mukuro by her sister’s presence and probably her own formed army mentality), and with each other they might be pretty more free and also can give each other acceptance and also deal with Mukuro’s emotion repressing (existing in my head) which resonate with Mikan’s repressed rage against her bullies (also existing in my head) and my brainrot is getting worse sorry I should stop for now I think teehee… :3

It could be very positive for both of them. Like you suggest, Mikan's experiences with abuse might help her understand the insecurity and deeper wounds Mukuro would try to hide, while Mukuro's protective nature would be easily to Mikan's benefit. I think they would both find it easy to feel needed, something important to both of them

I think the biggest hurdle might be that they're both very self-sacrificing, something that could be disastrous if they both spiral at the same time. Seeing this behavior in each other, however, might help them recognize it in themselves. Anyway, who doesn't like a little bit of stormy waves for a ship?

hi sorry to pop in your ask box again but i got curious (again): do you have a favorite dr ship (or favs, if you multiple)?

Maki x Shuichi is probably my favorite. It's really best if it's portrayed in contrast to their previous relationships, and how those shaped them as people. I like it most when it gets a bit angsty. (I ended up writing, like, another hundred words here but it got really rambly)

Ships like Ibuki x Mikan or Kaito x Shuichi are comfort food to me. I love a shy, anxious person finding a kind and supportive partner. Bonus points if the supportive one has insecurities of their own and the shy one reciprocates support. Kaede can make this dynamic happen with almost anyone, so Kaede ships are always great

Hajime x Nagito is a classic, especially when it's mostly bickering. Bonus points for Hajime x Chiaki x Nagito, but there's somehow not any less bickering

I like Kokichi x Kaito if it gets really angsty. It should get really, really angsty. I love that
