Guilherme Marcondes (according to various bios)
Spent most of his childhood drawing in front of the TV in São Paulo, Brazil.
He somehow ended up in Architecture School (something he describes as a miscalculation)
Begins working as an illustrator while still in post-secondary
Through a friend he ends up working for an animation company called Lobo (its now a much bigger and well respected graphic design studio) See Link here: http://www.lobo.cx
Now produces many commercial spots and independent short projects for several companies including LOBO, Hornet, and others.
Some big spots include: McDonalds, The Sun, British Gas, Hyundai, and Google. (amongst others)
ARTWORK
Marcondes's Artwork examines relationships between humans and our constructed environments.
Dreamscapy
animations in "real space"
multi-media
Spent 2 weeks as MIT resident artist developing prototype space narratives in video games with MIT students and faculty from the GAMBIT Game Lab. (after extensive research I still do not know what this prototype looked at).
Work addresses questions around what it is like for us to live in a technological word. In other words, what does it mean for us to live in world where virtual spaces and real spaces collapse into each other? (this last question belongs to Naomi and Nathan and if we have time maybe we will put it to you fellow listener).
