Enter My Heart || Naomi & Mara
The party was⦠okay. The beer was cheap and the music was loud. But with cheap beer and loud music came a place where Mara could disappear into the silence between the beats and find girls without inhibitions who liked to dance. She settled into the makeshift dance floor, feeling the presence of bodies around her, enjoying the contact she craved so much. After a few songs, she could feel the sweat starting to build up at her temples and down the length of her spine and she exited the dance floor in search of a drink. In the kitchen she pulled a cold beer out of the fridge - the freshman never looked in the fridge where there were always at least a few bottles - and made her way back to the living room. She watched the people dancing, settling next to a young girl with dark brown hair and a beer in her hand. They were mostly girls in crop tops and doc martins, a few guys pushing their way into the groups, trying to mark their territory. But Mara watched the girls, the way their bodies moved. Damn, she was so gay. Sometimes she wondered how no one figured it out.
āYou like to dance?ā she asked the brunette next to her after a few minutes. She was pretty, even in the dark house, and Mara was itching to dance again.
Naomi was startled when the older, attractive blonde girl beside her spoke to her. Sheād just been keeping quiet, observing the almost painful heterosexuality on the dance floor. There was practically sex going on in the corners, and while it wasnāt thatĀ much worse than her high school prom had been, the lack of adults around to supervise made it feel dreadfully naughty. If it had been hot girlsĀ doing the grinding, she probably would have found it hot, but since it was mostly buff guys with their asses toward her, she didnāt feel like there was much to look at over there. āUh, sometimes,ā she replied hastily, caught off guard. Being drunk didnāt help either, though even as the thought crossed her mind she stubbornly insisted to herself that she wasnāt thatĀ drunk.Ā āYou wanna dance?ā she asked, eyes twinkling, smile lighting up. It was pretty cool to be asked to dance by an upperclassman.
