what is a “soulbonder”???

A being who has a soulbond / is soulbonded is a soulbonder…

Isn’t soulbonding the same thing as being a riako/gachikoi?? They both feel a genuine connection and form a relationship with their f/o, no?

No, they are not the same thing. The best way to explain the difference between soulbonding and yumeshipping is that soulbonders can communicate with their partner mentally or spiritually, while yumeshippers cannot.

Soulbonding is a genuine spiritual practice and relationship between two (or more) beings that, just like any regular relationship, requires maintenance and active participation between both parties. On the other hand, yumeshipping is a purely fictional, one-sided relationship between the yume and their f/o(s).

A term for beings who experience a deep, inseparable connection with their partner(s). Where their sense of self and the other’s feel interconnected—twisted, woven, or connected together from within.

This connection extends beyond a typical relationship and may involve shared identity, internal presence, or spiritual and/or psychological overlap.

This may manifest in multiple ways, including but not limited to:

Feeling internally connected or “woven together” on a psychological or spiritual level.

Experiencing a sense of shared identity, overlap, or inseparability with your partner(s).

Innersystem relationships.

Being an introject (fictive or otherwise) and/or fictionkin of your partner.

Intratwined was coined with systems and soulbonders in mind. It was not intended to describe parasocial relationships or unhealthy attachments, but I will not stop you from identifying with or using it that way.

→ Journals ♡ ꒱ ꒱ Dedicate a journal to your f/o and fill its pages with drawings or written expressions of your love for them! Feel free to decorate the cover with photos, pins, or anything that resonates with you and your f/o— you aren’t just restricted to the pages! If you have an ita bag, you can even match the journal cover to it!

→ Time capsules ♡ ꒱ ꒱ Write a letter to yourself about your yumeship and then seal it in an envelope or place it in a box to open in the future. This way, you can look back and see how far you’ve come! In your letter, consider including details like your current favorite art commissions and photos of how your shrine looks right now.

→ Mini shrines ♡ ꒱ ꒱ Decorate a small tin and keep photos of your f/o or items that remind you them inside so you can carry them around anywhere! I recommend putting items like pressed flowers, small fragrance samples, charms, stickers, and small keychains of your f/o in there.

→ CDs ♡ ꒱ ꒱ Make a playlist with songs that remind you of, or are associated with, your f/o and then burn it onto CDs—you can also design custom CD covers, track lists, and cases themed around them if you do this! Alternatively, you can burn a disc with all of your f/o’s voice lines, or voice claims if they don’t have canonical voice lines.

→ Patches ♡ ꒱ ꒱ Design your own patches based off your f/o and sew them onto a jacket or bag! There are many in depth tutorials on how to make your own hand made patches online that I recommend watching if you’re interested. :^)
