Its almost enough to make him snort, that anything might ever be the same concept of normal that they once knew. This wouldn’t be spoken out loud, no, she didn’t need to hear those thoughts from him now. After a bit of time outside, he might have brightened spirits, but for now all that’s offered up in response to her idea is a nod as his hand raised to rest on her leg. Keeping her stable on his shoulder.
True to his prediction, during the walk from the hotel to the tower they had been stopped nearly four times by various couples. All fascinated to hear of Plasma’s daring new Head of Defense, and to congratulate the happy couple on their new matrimony. Luckily he was well practiced in his formalities, a nod here, a ‘thank you’ there. Of the nearly 300 people attending their wedding, by now it had become like an old habit. A journey that should have taken only ten minutes turned into a half hour, fielding questions of what married life was like, and their intentions for the future. So much for keeping business out of their minds.
At least some peace and quiet is achieved outside of a small café, his finger running along the rim of a cup absentmindedly. “By the time we finish our meal, most of the tourists may have filtered out and gone to bed. Perhaps then we can walk in peace.”
The mention of the marriage is a bittersweet one-- she’s happy to be with him, yet still unhappy to be without everyone else. She’s polite nonetheless, and acknowledges the comments with the obvious thank yous-- though, if you look closely enough and know her well enough, it’s easy to tell that the comments aren’t even close to genuine. Yes, she’s perfectly alright with her marriage, just not the circumstances more than anything. That said, she dismisses the people as quickly as politely possible, obviously not wanting to speak to them. Unfriendly? Yes, most definitely.
That doesn’t really matter to her, though-- she didn’t tend to care too much about public opinion aside from brief moments of doubt anyway. As soon as they’re alone she’s quick to relax, leaning on him again with a little sigh. “That was... Intrusive, to say the least. I still want to see the tower, though-- after we’re done. And anything else you feel like seeing, of course. This isn’t just for me to enjoy. We can head back sooner if it gets too cold, though. I’m sure there’s plenty to do inside.”
