After a long day’s worth of travel, with very little sleep, I was ready to crash, once I arrived on the Thai island of Koh Kood, at the 5-star Soneva Kiri
Up for a little adventure, I knew almost nothing about Belize, before I headed there for a last minute escape...
The recipe is adapted from my friend’s grandmother’s recipe for traditional Banana Loaf, to create a delicious and nutritious, gluten-free and lactose-free Bana
One of my guilty pleasures is French fries. There, I said it! It’s true. Yet, I love to be healthy – it’s a constant battle of balance. Sometimes though, when I
I wanted to write this brief post because I wanted to illustrate how much pressure there is on someone like Nargis (model/actress/etc) to remain thin.
The following is what she said on a recent Snapchat while at the gym. Please remember that Nargis is 5′9″ or 176 cm:
“I’m not going to lie about this, I went from 57 Kg (126 lbs) to 72 Kg (159 lbs) within a year. Yes, and it was my fault - i ate junk. And so now, because I was a bad, bad girl, I have to pay for it. Ok, no, I don’t have to “pay for it” - I’m just getting it together. Look, it ain’t easy. It takes a lot of work and effort to stay in shape. Gotta commend those who are fit and healthy”
While I will admit that gaining this much in one year is a significant change, this is what she means:
Unsustainable, overdrive skinny and normal, basically. Let alone the terrible mind frame that eating one thing or another translates to someone being being “good” or “bad” - as if nachos are a moral dilemma! She can exercise more if she wants to, she’s free to do that, its just...I want people to understand what kind of lifestyle the left side requires and how for many people, its not a lifestyle most people enjoy.
