Cool comic made in a day! Love the sketchy style and the depth in the shading. Story is fun! Impressed with it especially under the time constraints

Poem which I think is made from found words. Reread three times; the flow itches my brain really good
Had a lovely chat with the artist <3

Very interesting essay on anarchy, how white-dominated the movement is, and how black communities have practically functioned as anarchists due to being abandoned by the state. Really appreciated the history and context, brilliant piece
big cartel shop here
Very nice perzine that felt like getting a penpal letter with life updates, or reading an old style blog post. I loved the wee insight into their life. Hard agree on zines not needing to be reviewed or rated; though I guess that's what I'm doing here. But my review is, "I enjoyed my time with this one".
Idk if the email is still checked and don't have any other credit links unfortunately. Record of another in the series here
Full colour illustrations about being made to feel ugly by corporations trying to sell you something (but in space!)
Wonderfully tongue in cheek, love the bold colours
They're now on insta here
Beautifully illustrated, going into detail about different types of jackalopes. Love the imagination and research that went into creating the different species and how they'd exist in their environments!
Freelance Wildlife illustrator from Cheshire; raising awareness of endangered species and with a range of beautiful gift-able items from mug
Fascinating and very true and accurate account of the Tay Seal Man, a cryptid native to Dundee. Helpful tips on how to possibly survive if you encounter it included.

Perhaps I'm biased because one of my poems is featured in this, but I really love this collection. There's such a variety of experiences, and beautiful words.
I don't get paid for purchases of this, as Coin Operated Press is a social enterprise and money goes towards facilitating community events - so I'm not being totally self serving when I recommend you get a copy lol
Buy a physical copy or a PDF copy and help the zine scene in Scotland thrive!
Excellent collection looking at the phenomenon of giant women in media being portrayed as monsters and/or sex objects, and how that ties into misogyny (women needing to be smaller than men to be nonthreatening) and transphobia.
There's a transcript of a performance the artist gave on the subject at the back, with a fictionalised organisation forcing growth stunting pills onto women

I got the first home printed version of this, AND the second printing on riso
The art is gorgeous, and it's cool seeing the pieces side by side, how the artist adapted it for riso printing
They're not exactly the same! Can't show the whole page in red with evangelion on TV for obvious reasons, but it's a centrefold in the original print, and not present in the riso version. The resources at the back are new too, which is cool

Zine about trans bathroom experiences. iirc this helped raise money for someone Really good collection of art, poetry, and essays. Love the colour consistency through the whole zine
Included the credits page. First person (Kamal) was one of the organisers for the orphan_account exhibition I took part in last year; funny we crossed paths before, but not surprising lol
Essay on societally ingrained fat shaming, and how deeply it impacts us as fat people. Wonderfully written, ends on a defiant note.

Gorgeous photos; the grit and rot of Edinburgh, with effective short poetic captions.

This is a nice wee comic anthology. First one is a hetalia fancomic, which I enjoyed despite having minimal knowledge about the show. Second was a beautiful personal comic about formative childhood experiences. Third was a fancomic about All For The Game which I also don't know - I really enjoyed the sketchy style and the quick dialogue.

Both those shelves are zines and self published comics. Including the little treasure chest, that's full of 1 sheet zines.
I've been thinking about making a blog highlighting random things from my collection, if anyone would get a kick out of that? I've been trying to get offline more, but that feels like a less useless use of my time
