I think it just occurred to me that the reason I've been so fixated on Narnia both during and after reading the books is that I've been starved for bright fantasy.

All around me I see dark fantasy and/or grimdark - which can be good in its own right, don't get me wrong - and then Narnia comes along with imagery like this
