vldsaeun:
Anyone who had spent enough time with Saeun knew about her love for tea, and it should be a surprise to absolutely no one that this place was the one that she had really wanted to visit. Inhaling the sweet lavender aroma with each breath she took, blinding her a little, body relaxing with every sip, the taste too delicious and comforting. More than just the tea, it was the fact that Chan was there with her, and it was normal and familiar and exciting all at once. And she wondered how it was even possible for someone to make her feel so many things in such a little time, and it only took one look from him to have her body buzzing with an energy she certainly hadn’t experienced before.
It was nice.
“It is perfect,” she said and she meant it, but what exactly? Saeun wasn’t sure. For now, she decided to just talk about the tea, it was safer. “More yumil-gwa?” Which was funny, really, considering she had been eating her weight in those ever since they had arrived. “Or we can ask it to go and take a walk. It’s a beautiful night, and as lovely as this place is, I would hate missing anything.” They only had one more day before returning to the city, and Saeun wasn’t ready for it just yet.
Setting her tea down, Saeun took a moment to consider her next words. The uncertainty was a little bit confusing, scary even, and she still didn’t know where exactly they stood. All those weeks apart had shifted something, mind slowly opening up to the possibility, to the what if, and she didn’t want to do anything that could potentially ruin a friendship that had been such an important part of her life for years. “Thank you, Channie. It means a lot that you came with me to see 4am and Shuxuan unnie.” And she definitely didn’t want to think about her spending a good two hours deciding what to wear and regretting not bringing a cuter dress for this. It was ridiculous to care about such thing when Chan had seen her wearing pajamas and no makeup, those times when they used to sneak out of the trainee dorms to get some midnight snack that wasn’t healthy at all.
he scoffs, amused and endeared; “you sound like my mother when you say that. every time we used to go to the mall or somewhere, she wanted us to kind of hurry because she wanted to see it all,” there’s a soft, almost nostalgic smile on his features and that’s only because he’s fond of home, but he’s also melancholic about home, always nostalgic about it. but that? that is something only he knows, and now saeun does too, not because he’s openly saying it, but because there’s always a very special spark in channarong’s eyes every time he talks about his family, about home, about his past; a shine only he allows saeun to see, because he never, ever, speaks about his family to anyone else. almost as if no one deserves to see what else is inside chan’s heart.
“but yes, to go sounds good, i’m cool with it.” he leans back against the chair, arms raising as he stretches comfortably, not minding if there’s anyone watching. his leg feels particularly well tonight, which is crazy considering the tight touring schedule on his shoulders’ and the boys’.
her sudden words snap him out of his thoughts, turning to look at her, “why are you thanking me? you shouldn’t. we are friends.” and somehow, the word stings. that’s kind of the thing, isn’t it? this slow, almost antagonizing to his mind agony every time he thinks about his friendship with saeun; saeun who is so pretty and lovely and with the sweetest, most welcoming scent he’s ever perceived. it’s such a dangerous thing to think about it almost makes him sweat. “you know i’ll always... go and do whatever you want me to do. so you shouldn’t worry about that, okay?” he makes a brief pause, resting his shoulders on the table, “now, let’s order that to go and let’s get out of here, we have places to go and things to see, don’t we?”
