      theres a sparkle- beamed to the end with mischief in his eyes as his stare runs across his friend. of course he expected to see her. her small frame running around here and there, but with the current circumstances, the rapper was unable to move and showcase their close friendship. nope. not with all the cameras that surround them. and the last thing yong hwan needs is another useless scandal. ( hye yumi would probably also puke if she got mistaken as his girlfriend. which, was unfair cause hwan liked to think he wasn’t a bad catch. ) regardless, the male throws her a thumbs up. a simple act of support for whatever event she was partaking in. he was like a brother. he would make fun of her at any given opportunity but would also never miss a chance to wish for her success. “come backstage after?” he mouthed in the most subtle way. words barley emphasized and his mouth moving as little as possible as he jerked his head towards the back of the gym.

the loud shrieking of fans almost pierces channarong’s ears, it’s so loud, way too loud. mouth dry, weak limbs, exhaustion running all over his body. but the worst: the pain in his leg. he knows, of course, that this is bound to happen. in a competition when it all comes down to show your best physical abilities, he was not surprised when he was met with the inevitable: his leg was just about ready to give up on him. 

but he decides to take a break, as much as he doesn’t want to because a leader should always stick by his friends, by his groupmates. him leaving isn’t the way to go, but staying outside would prompt him to either start limping or for the fans to notice the pain and discomfort in his face; so he flees. walking backstage is sort of a torture, but he goes anyway, pretending as if nothing is happening, as if everything is fine, as if he’s just about to take a small break of sorts. 

what he doesn’t expect, however, is to find minkyu in the waiting room. what is he doing exactly there? well, channarong doesn’t know, but he supposes they all have their reasons to do whatever they’re doing. hm, no wonder he haven’t seen him outside either. “hey,” he greets, as taciturn as possible. he walks over to the nearest chair and plops down. this is not a secret to twentytwenty; that he broke his left leg years ago, that it hurts, that it pains him and yet, he still pretends such is not the case. he breathes in, clearly in pain, “i didn’t even notice you weren’t outside, what are you doing here?” and the thing is, he could’ve asked something along the lines of ‘is everything okay?’ or ‘do you need something?’ but he doesn’t because this is minkyu, someone he’s had trouble trying to get along with since many years ago. even so, at least he brings himself to ask: “all good?”

It was cool in the waiting room, a light breeze coming from various fans placed around for when idols needed to take a break, or needed assistance with anything from wardrobe, to their aching muscles. You weren’t allowed to stay too long though, knowing the fans outside would miss your presence. So, it was mostly for touch ups and changes of clothes if you became too sweaty or dirty. Kyuu had finished one of his events, so for him it was time to get his hair and makeup looking flawless once again, which was a godsend because he didn’t feel like being in front of a crowd right now. Although, he couldn’t help the sharp inhale through his nose as the artist dabbed at a tender spot on his face from a certain someone who thankfully, wasn’t invited to the event.

Kyuu hadn’t necessarily participated in one of the difficult sports, knowing that kicking a soccer ball wasn’t exactly the most difficult task (especially compared to ssireum, which he was glad he didn’t have to do), but having thousands of screaming fans around him, pressuring him was sometime close to torture.

The room was quiet, and peaceful, until someone decided to join him in the room and interrupt the silence. Someone he definitely hadn’t been expecting to spend any one-on-one time with today, his ex. Funnily enough, almost this exact scenario had occurred between them recently, and he couldn’t help the sly smirk that appeared on his lips that he was sure his makeup artist would have noticed, too. “I guess fate has a way of bringing us together?” The male speaks in a soft tone, unsure if she’d even noticed him as she walked through the door, too preoccupied with her own self. @vldnaeun​

     there’s an hour before the next event. ssireum was the one that he was most worried about- not only was it all about strength ( which he was fairly confident in ? ), it was about doing it on cameras and with probably an idol he wasn’t so connected with. but at least nova was partaking in it. oh how hwan would thoroughly enjoy winning against him. he exhaled a sigh and glanced at the production around him. everything was so -alive, so occupied. people were moving around, cameras were rolling, cheers were screamed across the room. it was just so much to pay attention to. likely he didn’t need to when a familiar face came into view. hwan smiled unconsciously before jogging towards his close friend. “are you ready to get your ass beat? by me or by whomever goes against you?” the male greeted. he was always ready to be snarky with nova. their friendship was close enough for things to be fun.
