OK so quick question: does anyone know what dialect (?) Sorowit and Nam use when they speak to each other? Because I struggle to understand it properly and that’s why the subs come up when they speak but I’m not educated enough to know what it is exactly

Pang: wh-what? Well it’s, err *sweats nervously* I’m kinda like

Wave: I’m talking about the bunk beds, can you quit being gay for one second.

Ohm: Hey, do you have a bag I could borrow?

Korn: The only bags I have are the ones under my eyes and they’re specifically designed to carry the burden of my existence.

Ohm: Literally all you had to say was no.

Pang: What are you doing up there?

Wave, perched on the kitchen counter: I pay rent and I can sit wherever I like in my own house, thank you very much!

Pang, sighing: where’s the spider?

Wave: over there by the door, could you please-

K so ep 6 was too serious for the sunglasses (plus there was a serious lack of Neo this week which is criminal) but I changed my username anyway because I felt like it.

Loving is Easy

Pom groaned as he sat up, reaching for his alarm, blaring at him rudely from the side table.

Shutting it off, he rolled over and glanced out into the kitchen, where the light was already on and faint clanks and humming could be heard.

He found himself smiling, despite it being 6am and still dark outside, even though he hadn’t got to bed until 2am. He couldn’t help it, it was so nice to wake up and know there was someone there for him, on his good days and his bad ones, always believing in him, never giving up on him.

Pom managed to drag himself up, still blinking blearily as he sighed and slung his feet to the ground, reluctantly leaving the warmth of the blankets to pad towards the doorway between the bedroom and the living area of their apartment.

He smiled as Chanon turned to him when he entered the kitchen. Pom stretched down to rest his head in his arms on the counter, eying Chanon fondly as the kettle clicked and he turned towards it, reaching to pour the boiling contents into the mugs set out next to the sink.

Chanon stirred the coffee now steaming from the mugs, the gentle tinkling of the teaspoon the only sound that could be heard aside from the tune he was quietly humming.

He smiled as he tapped the spoon on the edge of a mug and silently handed one of them to Pom, wrapping his hands around the other and gently lifting it to blow across the liquid to cool it down slightly.

Pom huffed under his breath in amusement.

Chanon had burned himself from drinking boiling hot chocolate once in highschool, causing him to jump and spill the rest all over his shirt (and Pom’s). Ever since then, he had harboured a deep mistrust of hot liquids.

 “Thank you.” Pom whispered, glancing up at Chanon as they both took a sip of the coffee.

Apparently adequately satisfied with the temperature of his drink, Chanon smiled back at him.

 “Well you need to go prepare for class in a bit and you only got 4 hours sleep after the Gifted exam last night.”

Pom groaned again at the reminder and flopped his head back on the counter, closing his eyes as his hair fell to cover them.

 “I love being a teacher, I’ll never regret that decision and those kids are like my own at this point. Still sometimes I question why my job takes up so much of my life.”

Chanon smiled down at him fondly.

 “Just like you said, those kids are like your own and you love being able to help them grow up and find themselves. You teach to see them become the people they were born to be and you love it because they mean so much to you. That’s why you put so much time and effort into it.”

Pom laughed at the speech and sat up to stretch his arms out.

 “You’re right as always. I’m just exhausted I guess.”

Chanon put the coffee mug down and stood up.

 “Of course you are, it’s not easy being the cool teacher!”

Pom raised his eyebrows questioningly at the statement.

Chanon smirked and wandered off to the stove, where he flicked the switch of the gas on underneath a frying pan before setting off towards the fridge.

 “I saw a meme. Like, how the cool teacher puts in like this much effort-” he stretched his arms out wide in front of him- “ and end up getting this much recognition from other teachers.” he finished holding his fingers an inch apart.

Pom couldn’t help but smile at the compliment, even if it had stemmed from a meme (that Chanon had likely seen whilst he was meant to be working.)

Chanon came back over to the pan with 2 eggs, cracking one into it before leaning over to stick 2 slices of bread in the toaster.

 “You go get changed, I’ll sort breakfast for us.”

Pom nodded and slunk off to the bedroom to get clothes and take a shower.

He’d always showered in the morning. It always helped him wake up and collect his thoughts for the day, running through the never ending to-do lists as the cool water hit his shoulders helped him organise his day.

Chanon on the other hand, always showered at night. He couldn’t sleep unless he’d washed the day away. Pom quite liked it though. It meant he always crawled into bed smelling faintly of rosewood, the familiar scent of which always managed to calm Pom’s racing mind as they drifted off to sleep.

As he turned off the water and reached for a towel, he paused. From the kitchen came the faint, melodic sound of singing again.

Pom instantly recognised the song and smiled to himself. Chanon always sung when he was in the kitchen.

Once his clothes were on, the dress shirt tucked neatly into his trousers, a tie in his hand, he returned to the kitchen with a towel still around his neck, rubbing the ends of his hair absentmindedly.

He returned to his spot where a plate of scrambled eggs and toast had been placed.

Chanon stood up and silently reached for the towel around Pom’s neck. He took it in his hand and began to massage Pom’s scalp, gently, carefully drying the damp strands.

 “It’s usually you nagging me about things like this,” Chanon murmured, “You’ll catch a cold if you’re wet and shivering.”

Pom sighed, smiling as he closed his eyes and leaned into Chanon’s touch, enjoying being the one taken care of for once- something his job didn’t often allow.

 “I know. But it’s nice having you do this, maybe I’ll leave my hair wet more often.” Pom mused.

Chanon gently knocked Pom’s head and threw the towel over the back of an empty chair before ruffling his hair fondly, causing Pom to duck away and turn to pout up at Chanon, who just laughed and gestured to the plates in front of them.

Pom wrinkled his nose at him before whispering a thank you and turning towards the food.

Chanon had always been an amazing cook. Back in highschool, whenever Pom had been too tired to eat and content to just collapse onto his bunk after a long day and fall unconscious on an empty stomach, Chanon could tell. He would always duck into the kitchen area on evenings when the late classes had begun to take their toll and even though he was exhausted too, he always managed to whip up something so delicious that Pom could never refuse.

Just where he’d picked up this knack for culinary preparation Pom didn’t quite know. Chanon had always seemed busy, either at their desk or the chalkboard or the computer lab. He was always lost in calculations or maps or star charts or some such that Pom could barely keep up in trying to understand, yet he still always managed to find the time to make sure Pom wasn’t burned out or skipping meals again.

In the years that had passed since then, through their ups and downs, the fundamental basis of their relationship had remained unchanged. They both looked out for each other no matter what and loved each other easily, without the explicit need to voice it out loud.

Being together, no matter where they were, was comfortable. It was easy. And it felt right. It had always felt right to be by the other’s side.

They both finished breakfast at the same time and Pom reached over for Chanon’s plate and stacked it on top of his own before carrying them over to the empty dishwasher and slotting them both in side by side before turning to the clock.

 “It’s 7 o’clock.” He murmured.

Chanon nodded before reaching for the tie that lay on the counter and walking over to Pom.

 “Which means you need to get going soon-” he stretched his arms around Pom’s neck to tuck the tie under his collar- “to resume your role as best teacher in history.”

Pom grinned as Chanon continued to fiddle with the tie, looping one end over the other before undoing it and starting again, his tongue poking out in concentration as he bent down to get closer to the complicated knot he was managing to tie around Pom’s neck.

 “Let me.”

Pom gently slapped Chanon’s hands and took over tying the tie. At over 30 years old Chanon still hadn’t got a grasp on the skill.

Chanon looked at his feet sheepishly before glancing back up at Pom through his fringe. God he looked cute doing that.

 “I’ll see you later, then.”

Pom said, slipping shoes onto his feet and reaching for the keys hanging on the hook next to the front door.

Chanon nodded, leaning against the doorframe and handing Pom’s phone to him (he’d walked out the door without it too many times to count in the past.)

 “Make sure you get to work on time. Text me at lunch, if I’m free we can eat together.”

 “Will do.”

Chanon yawned, still smiling fondly at Pom as he fumbled to get his phone in his pocket.

Finally organised, Pom grabbed his bag and turned the key in the lock, opening the door up to the apartment hallway.

Their place wasn’t too big and it wasn’t showy or posh, but it was theirs and it was filled with little bits of each of them, from the decorations to the clutter to the smells, and that made it perfect to them.

 “Wait a sec.”

Chanon called out as Pom stepped over the threshold.

Pom turned to him as Chanon stepped forward and swooped in to quickly kiss his cheek.

 “There we go. Have a great day at work!” Chanon grinned cheekily.

Pom rolled his eyes fondly and nodded.

 “You too. I love you.”

 “Love you more.”

 “Impossible.”

He smiled as he made his way down the hallway, with the warm sunlight beginning to filter through the window in front of him and Chanon’s words still ringing in his ears, he felt he could face anything the day threw at him.

Pang slumped into the dorm alone after the evening Gifted class. Punn had offered to go get food for dinner and Ohm had tagged along for the ride. Wave had given the excuse that he’d left his pen in the classroom and had gone back to get it, insisting he did not need Pang’s company to do so.

So it was that Pang was by himself as he pushed the door to the room open and flicked the light switch, illuminating the room in a soft golden glow before he placed his key on the table and sighed, just about ready to face plant onto his bed and lie there until the others returned, when something caught his eye.

One of his sweaters that, now he thought about it, he hadn’t seen in months, was neatly folded and hung over the rail at the end of his bed. 

Pang frowned as he went to pick it up, inspecting it and wondering how it had got there in the first place when a note fell from the pocket, fluttering to the floor to land at his feet.

He bent to pick it up and unfolded it. He instantly recognised the handwriting and a small smile began to form on his face as he scanned the paper.

Pang,

I stole this jumper from you three months ago.

And yes, I’ve been meaning to return it for ages, but I just kept forgetting and also it’s warm and fluffy and the computer lab is cold, so…

Yeah, anyways point is I needed to return your jumper and I also wasn’t sure how to give you your present, so I thought I’d do it like this.

Merry Christmas, Pang.

Wave

Pang reached into the pocket of the sweater again and came up with a small box in his hand.

The decoration was simple, just a small, silver bow was tied around the lid, which Pang gently undid before carefully prying the box open, an affectionate smile crossing his face as he peered inside.

In the box lay a delicate silver watch. The hands quietly ticked around the face, bordered with intricate designs etched into the metal.

Pang lifted the watch from the box and grinned, his heart beginning to flutter as he turned it in his hands, examining the details in awe.

  “Do you like it?”

Pang turned towards the door where Wave had quietly slipped in and was now standing, cheeks pink, clutching one arm to his chest as he glanced up at Pang nervously.

Pang watched him fiddle with his sleeve, smiling fondly as he replied.

  “It’s beautiful. When’d you get it?”

Wave cleared his throat and glanced back down at the ground.

  “I made it. I found a few old watches and managed to take them apart to get all the components, then I looked up how to do the engravings. Maybe you’ll be on time to class now.”

Pang laughed sweetly as he approached Wave and wrapped his arms around him in a tight hug.

  “You’re amazing, you know that?”

  “I know.” Came the whispered reply.

Pang smiled as he buried his face into Wave’s hair, contentedly breathing in the familiar scent as he felt Wave’s hands slowly move to settle around his waist, hands stretching out on his back to pull him closer.

  “What did I do to deserve having you by my side?” Pang whispered into Wave’s hair.

The action apparently tickled because Wave giggled and pulled away, holding Pang at arms length as he studied his face with a smile.

Pang sighed softly as he started running his thumb in small circles on Wave’s arms before he had a thought and let go, making his way to the bed again where the sweater lay.

He picked it up and walked back to Wave before offering it out to him.

  “I just returned that to you, though.” Wave frowned.

  “And now I’m telling you to take it back. Keep it, Wave, it looks so adorable on you and I think you’re more attached to it than I am.”

But Wave still didn’t take it, so Pang reached up to pull it down over his head, causing Wave to erupt in muffled protest as he squirmed in Pang’s arms, trying to escape as Pang burst out laughing and succeeded in managing to wiggle it over Wave’s head.

Pang snorted at the sight of Wave’s pouting face, mussed up hair and the glasses sitting askew half way down his nose before grabbing Wave’s wrists and pulling them both through the sleeves of his sweater.

Wave smiled slightly as Pang tenderly reached up to his head to fix the hair sticking out at odd angles, stroking it back down into place fondly before slipping the glasses off Wave’s face completely and wrapping an arm around his waist to pull him closer, leaning down to gently press his lips to Wave’s.

He glowed as he felt Wave smile against his lips and reach a hand up to Pang’s hair, kissing him back as they held each other in the warm light of the dorm.

Lost in the other’s arms, neither noticed the door open again behind them until they heard someone cough from the doorway.

They jumped apart and turned to see Ohm and Punn returning from their food run, now grinning at them teasingly as they closed the door behind them.

Wave gripped Pang’s arm and buried his face in his shoulder in an attempt to hide the deepening shade of his cheeks.

  “Mission successful then, Wave?”

Punn questioned, grinning as he sidled past them to the kitchen to put down the bags of food on the counter.

Wave groaned into Pang’s chest as Ohm skipped past them, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously at Pang, who just aimed a light kick at his friend’s ankles as he hugged Wave to his chest and couldn’t help but beam at just how much planning Wave had apparently put into giving his gift.

He squeezed Wave’s shoulders before he whispered,

  “ Come on, lets go help set up for dinner.”

Wave nodded as Pang stepped away and offered his hand. Wave took it, even though his cheeks were already burning. They walked towards their friends in the kitchen, fingers interlocked tightly as they exchanged soft glances and savoured the warmth their joined hands held as they smiled quietly to each other.

I HAVE WATCHED ENOUGH MURDER MYSTERIES TO KNO THAT HIS STEREOTYPE IS ALMOST NEVER AS INNOCENT AS THEY SEEM

I’ve been really anxious all day and it’s just constantly been in the back of my mind that The Gifted Grad is finishing tonight and I’m not sure how to deal with that. This show has been such a massive part of my life and these characters honestly mean so much to me- I see bits of myself in all of them and I love them all so much, all of their development and complex characterisations are (for the most part) amazing to watch. 

I’ve loved the feeling of fighting with them against a corrupt system and the director and really appreciate the way this show depicts young people fighting and working together for a better future and the way it mirrors gen z’s fights in the real world. 

I love they ways that the women (though admittedly few in numbers) have always been active members of the fight, always been involved, on occasion saving male characters in difficulty, rather than just been jealous girlfriends or annoying bl fangirls as I’ve grown so used to seeing them be in Thai series. 

I love the bonds between the characters, some of them so so deep and infinitely complex and real and I love seeing how these relationships affect their motivations and their actions as well as how their relationships have shifted and matured over the course of tg and tgg. 

I love the way the writers always keep us on our toes, the constant plot twists and shocks that both we and our characters have to deal with and comprehend every week, the plot is so well thought through and so thorough and with every episode I feel as if I gain a new understanding of the characters, the events, the story... 

I love the way this show makes me think, the way I can watch it at 11pm and still be up thinking about it, theorising, scrolling through the tag, rewatching bits at 2am. There is so much to unpack and whilst I am rewatching it with my sister (who I managed to rope into it, we’ve just watched ep 9) I am constantly realising new details and picking up on foreshadowing to future events.

And almost more than the show itself, I love the fandom. Particularly here on Tumblr. I always enjoy scrolling through the tag (which, by the way, we always manage to get on trending- we reached number 3 last week you guys!) and listening to everyone else’s thoughts, emotions and theories, looking through all the screenshots and gifs (always so amazingly done too, I could never) and I always look forward to the inevitable influx of fics that appear on here and on ao3 on Monday and Tuesday after each new episode. This is such an amazing community and I am so proud and delighted to be a part of it, however small my contributions may be, y’all are always such a pleasure to be around and you’ve all shaped my gifted experience so much.

I’m not sure what I’ll do once this is all over, my Sunday nights (/early Monday mornings) will never be the same, I’m not ready to say goodbye to this show or these characters, but then again, I don’t think I’d ever be ready. So thank you so much to everyone for these past few weeks- the writers and producers at gmm, the outstanding star cast we’ve got, the rest of the fans I’ve loved talking with, reading all the incredible fanfics and theories of and squealing over the amazing gifs and edits of.

It’s been a delight to have been on this journey with you all. I’ll see you in a few hours. (and possibly in therapy too.)
