Is Happiness an Illusion?
"Happiness is just an illusion caused by the temporary absence of reality." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Bryan Johnson, the guy who is so happy that he's actively trying to live forever (https://x.com/bryan_johnson), has just started taking psychedelics. If he's truly happy, then what's the point in turning to drugs?
Then, there's Elon Musk - the richest person in the world has a prescription for ketamine to treat depression.
I've been struggling my entire life to find happiness - a reality that maybe doesn't even exist. It reminds me of the TV series "The Curse of Oak Island." They've been looking for buried treasure for 13 seasons. At first, it was really exciting because there was so much hope. I'm currently watching Season 13 and starting to realize - they may never find what they're looking for. This might actually be the perfect metaphor when it comes to searching for happiness.
Anyway, I owned a coffee shop in Grand Rapids, MI for about 4 years. When I was at work, I always had my game-face on. But, behind the scenes I was tired & miserable. My customers couldn't believe that I wanted to sell it because they thought I always seemed so happy. This begs the question, is anyone really happy? Or are we all just pretending to be happy?
Think about it, "How are you today? I'm good, how are you?" It's an automatic response that means nothing. We go home for Thanksgiving and pretend to love our job and that everything is amazing. But, how can everything be amazing when we're controlled by a corrupt government who steals our money and then turns around and lies to us about so many things. Not only that, but our society has gotten so angry that I can't even read the comments on my YouTube videos anymore…the anger, the hatred, the jealousy!
Recently, I started to question my own grit. I grew up in an era where our grandfathers were tough as nails. They worked hard, paid the bills, raised children, and didn't complain about anything!
I remembered hearing Theo Von (https://www.youtube.com/@TheoVon) mention something about mental health recently. I love his podcast and really admire him as a person. On the surface, in my eyes, it would seem like he's got the perfect life! So, I decided to ask Grok (Twitter's AI chatbot), "Which mental health issues does Theo Von struggle with?"
Here's the response it gave me… Theo Von, the comedian and podcaster, has been open about several mental health challenges throughout his career, often discussing them in interviews, on his podcast This Past Weekend, and in stand-up specials. Based on his public statements, the primary issues he has addressed include: depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety & manic episodes, substance use disorder (addiction), and trauma-related issues.
I don't know if this information changes anything, but it sure is comforting to hear that I'm not the only person struggling!
Pretty much every morning, I wake up with the same knee-jerk reaction, which is one of disappointment. Another day where I have to make myself feel useful. For what? Is it possible that none of this existence on Planet Earth even matters!?
Seemingly, the happiest people believe in God and believe they're going to Heaven when they die. This is great for some people, but there is literally ZERO proof of an afterlife. As I sit here today, I feel like existence is overrated. Actually, I kind of hate being forced to live this boring, seemingly pointless life. Think about it, our brains would make us think that life is so important, but we don't even know where we came from - or where we are going? This sounds a lot like video game characters, which would potentially point to us being in some type of simulation - another story for another day.
Anyway, I tend to be a man of action when it comes to my mental health. I've tried so many different solutions with varied results.
In 2017, I started going to the Born Clinic in Grand Rapids, MI for adrenal fatigue.
In 2023, I had my brain scanned at the Amen Clinic (https://youtu.be/bSBLt2NewO8). Dr. Daniel Amen believes that "mental health conditions are actually brain health issues that steal your mind."
In 2024, after watching Dr. Patrick Flynn on the Real Alex Clark podcast (https://youtu.be/1oyK-_hbRlQ?si=xptWB0Hk0E_9rg8o), I decided to visit The Wellness Way (https://youtu.be/qx22-zJggEk).
About 5 months ago, I started taking testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). It has increased my energy levels and boosted muscle growth, but the depression remains.
So, just last week, I signed up for the Annual Bloodwork Membership (https://ways2well.com/membership-bloodwork) that Ways2Well (https://x.com/ways2wellX) offers.
I haven't given up hope for finding happiness, but I am truly starting to wonder if happiness is all just an illusion.
With that being said, there is ONE thing that I'm extremely excited about. Just 9 days ago, a lady going by the name of "Rhea" came out with potential UFO disclosure. It's a pretty long story, and many people will quickly dismiss it, but I'm really hopeful it will lead to something exciting. Click on the link below and save it somewhere. Next time you've got about 15 minutes of free time, relax, grab a coffee and open your mind to the possibilities!
You wanted Disclosure. I am a whistleblower recently "retired" from the inside and you're only getting part of the truth.
