Memorize what card you got, okay? Don’t tell me! [Giving her a moment to do so, he gently takes the card back and returns it to the deck, then pulls out a card from the deck that clearly isn’t hers.]

Nope. [Shaking her head with a laugh.]

I thought you said you could do magic.

Are they? [Grinning, he shoves his hands in his pockets, whipping out cards out of seemingly nowhere.] You’re in luck.

[He looks around, selecting a nearby building with a large, mostly unbroken window, moving toward it. He offers her the deck, upside down, clearly proud he gets to do magic.] Pick a card — any card.

[Smiling she picks a card from the middle of the deck and studies it before looking up at him.]
