Graduation || Natticus
It never ceased to amaze him the effect that they had on each other. With literally hundreds or maybe a thousands of people around them, when they were together it felt like they were alone. As if no one else around them mattered or as if there were no one else around them. It was beautiful and part of the reason why Atticus wanted to marry Natalie. He knew that there was no one else in this world that could make him as happy, or that he could be himself with. She bettered him as a whole. “I don’t want to cut you off but hold that thought, you’re dad has something to say to you.” He knew she’d be furious but he needed to distract her for two seconds before she turned around ready to curse him out.
Right as she turned to face him, with her family and all of her sisters around,he handed her a bouquet of 2 dozen of her favorite flowers. As she took the bouquet he dropped down to one knee, with the small box in his hands.”Natalie from the moment that I first saw you, I knew that you were special. I was awestruck by your beauty and amazed to find a woman with such passion and drive. You are so selfless even though you try not to be and I love that about you. Like the time you came over and brought over a stack of my favorite movies with soup when I was sick with the flu, missing out on New York Fashion Week, I knew we were meant to be. I’ve never loved someone as much as you, and I can’t imagine my life without you. You inspire me deeply to never stop reaching for my goals, and even though you wish I was around all of the time you constantly encourage me to strive forward. Because of you I’m finishing up grad school an entire year earlier. Which gives me more time to focus on you-us. Natalie baby, I want to grow old with you. I want to build a family with you. We have so many memories together and I want to continue creating memories with you for the rest of our lives. My nabi, will you complete me and make me the happiest man on Earth, will you marry me? I now know that you and I are truly meant to be so let’s spend the rest of our lives together. Will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?”
Natalie had every big moment in her life continuously plotted out, and her big reveal was no different. So when her epic speech was interrupted by her boyfriend, who turned his back for half a moment, the short temper in the beauty had risen to the top, she hated being interrupted, but as her family then crowded around her she could barely get a word in edgewise, especially now as she was handed flowers and watched Atticus lower himself onto his knee. Instantly Natalie was speechless. This wasn’t the first time he’d done this, but now the moment held so much more importance than the last. She never thought she’d get a do over, or another chance to be Mrs. Atticus Andrews. Now the moment had arisen and all she could think was one thing.
“How could you!” Her face filled with distraught as stamped her foot. “I planned this whole speech to tell you was pregnant and you totally upstage me with a proposal-- Oh my god, is that ring Cartier-- No, no. all of this needs to reset.” She handed her father back the flowers and gestured to Atticus to stand back up. “All of you need to pretend like you didn’t hear anything and let me have my moment.” She began to show away the ring in her boyfriends hand. He wouldn’t be her fiance until she got her away, but that was how Natalie was.
