suguru geto who argues with you at any given opportunity.
if looks could kill, the student government conference room would be a mass casualty site.
“i just think,” he spoke, “that giving away forty percent of the joint greek budget to a ‘winter gala’ is a bit… silly. especially when the hockey team needs new gear.”
he leaned back in his rolling chair, twirling a stupid plastic pen between his long fingers. he was wearing his stupid fraternity sweater, long black hair tied back into that loose, somewhat effortless bun that half the girls on campus swooned over. his deep plum eyes narrowed at you with a hint of malice, as if he was daring you to retort.
half of the rooms eyes immediately swung to you, waiting for what you would say.
you flashed him your 'pretty sorority smile' and leaned forward, resting your chin on your propped up arm. “with all due respect, geto, some of us actually care about campus culture and alumni donations.” you paused, noticing that the council president was holding his breath.
“if your boys want new hockey gear, maybe tell them to stop spending the frat treasury on industrial-sized kegs of cheap beer, just a thought,” you hummed, flashing him another smile as if you had said the nicest thing in the world.
a collective of gasps came from the room. suguru’s smile didn’t drop, but his jaw tightened ever so slightly.
“meeting adjourned,” the president squeaked, other representatives and students standing up almost immediately.
suguru geto who “accidentally” tripped you and caused you to spill your entire $30 coffee on yourself.
you had just finished a boring class on numerical analysis, and were now walking to the library with a few of your sisters after getting what you call “the gods greatest blessing” from the varsity cafe.
“i’m just saying we shouldn’t have to pay anything above a dollar for anything,” one of your sisters spoke, sipping on her pumpkin spice latte. “righttt, let me know when pumpkin spiced lattes start selling for ninty nine cents,” you replied, and she stuck her tongue out at you, causing the group to laugh.
the moment the joke landed, so did you.
“what the fuck is wrong with you??” one of your other sisters spoke up, standing face to face with the reason WHY you were on the ground to begin with. “it was an accident, swear” suguru raised his hands in mock defense.
he was standing with a couple of his own frat brothers, who seemed to be looking at everyone but you at the moment. your thirty-dollar coffee was now soaking through your shirt. suguru glanced down at you and fought against himself to keep his laugh in. you stood up and sighed.
"ill show you what an accident is when i hit you with my car," your vice president said, jabbing her pointer and middle finger at suguru’s shoulder.
"you do realize that thats a felony?" spoke one of his henchmen. okay that was pushing it, not all of the kappa phi guys were dicks anyways. "and do you realize that i wasn't talking to you?" she shot back at him, sending the guy an icy glare.
as funny as that was, you were still pissed at suguru. "if you've got an issue with me, say it to my face," the anger in your voice impossible to miss.
"how many times do i have to say it was an accident? it's not my fault you weren't watching where you were going..."
“you’re such a pathetic loser.” was all you said to him, throwing your cup at his head, choosing to drag your sisters away from his little cult before someone committed manslaughter.
suguru geto who locks eyes with you across a packed party.
even with the doors open, the frat house had gotten irritatingly and suffocatingly hot. sweaty people bumped up against eachother as they danced to the beat of the music.
you stood with one of your sorority sisters – kim, holding a deep blue cup, listening as she yapped off about how she argued with a 6 foot-ish, black haired guy with a scar on his lip about ‘why women should pay on a date’.
“he sounds like an idiot,” you replied, taking a sip of whatever concoction satoru had mixed up for you. you grimaced as the flavour settled on your tongue, sugar basically flooding your tastebuds.
“yeaaa, but he was reallyyyy hot,” she chirped, and you threw her a glance of disappointment. then she fell straight into explaining why she even involved herself with him, and you slowly zoned out, simply nodding along.
you looked across the sea of dancing bodies before your eyes landed on the one person they could properly focus on through the flashing lights.
suguru leaned against a wall, beside the doorway that led to the back of the house. a red cup dangled from his fingers, and he took a small sip of whatever was in his cup.
he was surrounded by three different girls from a freshman dorm who were practically throwing themselves at him, giggling at everything he said, no matter how dumb it sounded. he barely paid them any attention as his eyes remained trained on you. entirely on you.
the air began to feel static. itchy almost. you didn’t smile and you didn’t bother to wave. you looked at him, took a slow sip of your drink (no matter how disgusting it was) and raised a single eyebrow, letting him know you thought his taste in company was both pathetic and shitty.
you could've sworn the corner of his mouth twitched upward.
your chest tightened immediately.
a hand waving in front of your face brought you back to reality.
“helloooo? have you listened to a single thing i said?”
when you looked back, suguru had migrated into the crowd, and that was the last time you saw him that night.
suguru geto who has to park his beloved car three blocks away in the gravel overflow lot.
being sorority president and a part of the greek council committee meant that you were in charge of distributing the semester’s reserved parking passes for the greek row courtyard. suguru LOVED his car. he washed it every other sunday and always kept it parked where everyone could see it.
so you “accidentally” assigned his personal front-row spot to the campus’ recycling bins. god you enjoyed being petty.
the next morning, suguru stood by the greek council bulletin board, staring at the new parking map like it personally wronged him. one of his brothers pointed over at his new parking spot on the map, “looks like she got her lick back, huh?” the man glanced over to suguru with a smirk, that dropped as quickly as it appeared. “...she can lick my ass,” he mumbled, crossing his arms. his brother shot him a confused look, deciding not to venture too deeply into whatever that meant.
luckily for you, and unluckily for him, you happened to walk past at that moment, walking with kim (aka fushiguro’s newest cash cow), pretending you both had somewhere to be. you could basically feel suguru’s eyes burning into the side of your skull as you stopped walking, basically in front of him.
“do you find yourself funny?” he asked, glaring at you. you looked at the map with a look of fake, sugary concern. you acted as though this was the first time you saw your “mistake”. “oh my word! i am sooo sorry! the printer must have glitched when i was formatting the sheet,” you sighed, “it was an accident, swear!”
he narrowed his eyes at you, realizing you had just mocked him. you gave him a mean-girl pout, tilting your head. “the gravel lot past the football stadium still has plenty of open spaces, though. it's only a fifteen minute walk in the rain!”
kim stifled her giggles behind her hand while suguru’s fraternity brother now wished the ground would swallow him whole.
finally, suguru decided to speak, his arms dropping to his sides. “a glitch. right. dont worry about it, madam president. i dont mind a little walk,” he spoke smoothly, shooting you one last glare before walking off.
“what a dick,” kim mumbled, and you nodded, soft smirk on your face as you added, "don't get why he's so pissed over an accident.”
suguru geto who lockpicked his way into your apartment at 3:00am because you left your window latched.
the rest of the world thought you spent the entire night plotting his downfall. your sorority sisters spent three hours at dinner talking about how much of a pretentious, arrogant snob he was, and you agreed with every single word and laughed about how he's entirely beneath you. you never cried over men. you certainly wouldn't cry over him.
but at 3:14am, the wooden frame of your bedroom window creaked.
you didn't even bother to look up from your phone as the window slid upwards. cold, rainy, night air rushed into your bedroom, followed by the heavy, athletic frame of the vice president of kappa phi theta. he dropped onto your carpet, soaking wet, his sneakers covered in mud from the exact gravel lot you forced him to park in and his jacket dripping water onto your nice rug. he kicked his shoes off with a muffled thud.
"you're late," you said, your voice was completely flat, devoid of the sugary sweetness you faked in public.
suguru didn't look like the polite, untouchable campus golden boy right now. his hair was now loose, slightly damp strands sticking to his forehead and his eyes were dark, heavy, and completely fixed on you. he pulled his wet jacket off, revealing the grey t-shirt underneath.
"the lock on your windows cheap," he murmured, his voice low and raspy. he walked over to your bed, towering over you, casting a massive shadow in the dim light of your lamp. "took me less than ten seconds."
"fix it tomorrow then," you replied, finally looking up. you glanced at his damp clothes then shrugged, completely unbothered. he glared at you for a second, mumbling something to himself.
he crawled onto your mattress, deliberately dragging his damp hands over your expensive, duvet cover.
"you know your stupid 'glitch' had me walking to and from the stadium lot the whole day? really fucked up my shoes," he whispered, crowding your space until you were forced back against your pillows.
he didn't look smug anymore.
he looked almost... starved?
he pinned your arms down, forcing you to look him in the eyes, properly. "i think," he began, "you," his eyes falling to your lips, "should pay for the cleaning bill, to make things fair."
"in your dreams, geto," you laughed in his face, his grip releasing on you. his brows scrunched down in irritation before he leaned in ever so slightly, "mm-mm, suguru," he mumbled, placing a kiss on your jaw.
you rolled your eyes, your hands breaking free to wind into his hair. "well, suguru, you still owe me thirty dollars for that coffee from when your dumbass decided to trip me on tuesday."
suguru let out a low, dark chuckle that vibrated in his chest, gently biting onto his lip. "you do realize that your order tastes like shit anyways, right? he whispered, his thumb catching on your bottom lip, pressing into it with a possessive force. "too sweet. just like that fake-ass smile of yours."
"how about you just shut up and take your shirt off?" you smirked at him, wrapping your legs gently around his waist. he clicked his tongue, his face a reflection of yours as a smirk played onto his face.
he brought his face closer to yours, and his lips brushed against your ear.
theres no sweet words. theres no romance, to the campus, you're enemies. in reality, he's lying to his frat, you're lying to your sisters, and neither of you gives a single shit about the rules.
fuck it, you both really ain't shit, huh?
