Y’all beg for flushed out, complex female characters but then complain about how “annoying” or “emotional” they are when you get them. Two examples I can think of are Nancy from Stranger Things and Monse from On my Block. Nancy has to come to terms with her best friend being dead and having to lie about it, her feelings for two people she cares about, and the crazy shit happening in Hawkins 👀. Monse has to deal with the guy she cares about being in a gang, finding her mom that left her when she was little, her friendships being strained, and that horrible stuff that happens at the end of s1 👀. Both of these characters are very real with their emotions and like people in real life don’t make the best decisions all of the time. Y’all really be going in on them when they’re just doing what fully developed characters do… which is grow!

types of note takers

a: spend more time picking which pen and washi tape to use than actually taking notes. their notebook is a giant rainbow explosion.

b: simple. one pen, one notebook, maybe a highlighter if they’re feeling fancy.

c: takes notes on their laptop. organized, minimalist, timely. they have two windows open at all times: homework and tumblr.

d: doesn’t take many notes because they zone out for half of each class and is on their phone for the rest.

e: audio records the classes as well as taking notes by hand. later re-writes notes and types them *just in case* they lose their notebook. they never do.

f: never actually shows up to class, and if they do, they somehow forgot to bring a pen and paper.

g: you never see them taking any notes, instead they are always eating chipotle or mcdonalds in class. yet somehow they have the highest grade in the class.

told fiona what a great sister she was and was the one to get her out of prison

threatened to hit that football player over the head with bat if he dropped lip and ended up hitting him in the leg

was completely understanding of ian’s sexuality and was always borrowing ian’s rotc stuff bc he loved ian 

played battleship with debbie and was her best friend and made her a shiv so she could be safe 

took care of liam when they went into foster care & during season 4 when no one was there and he beat up kids for talking shit about liam 

wasn’t judgmental about mickey + ian and was the only one who actually went to mickey about ian and tried to give mickey some type of comfort

forgave monica when she came back and allowed her to try and be his mother again

forgave frank again and again and tried to help frank out by shaving his head to heal him and then getting his supplies in season 4 and taking care of him

was completely understand of bonnie’s choices and was fine w/ not having sex

wants to cure cancer

is seriously the most forgiving, emotionally intelligent, and supportive character on the show
