There’s a reason Pop-Tarts come in pairs. Before the tarts were a household name, Kellogg’s cut their machinery budget in half by doubling the amount in each package. By the time they became a popular food, people were used to having two tarts at a time. Source

My great uncle Bill Post invented the pop tart. He is still living and always has cases of PopTarts in his trunk. He said the biggest challenges were not having the frosting melt in the toaster and sequencing the machinery to create the filling in between the bread parts. He is a great guy.
