My printer is still broken so I've decided to take a break from bookbinding for a while. But, I've converted @simply-sithel's minibooks of my fanfics into a pair of adorable earrings!
Read the two Levihan one-shots here:
But for the Lovers
Bookends
Sithel already put most of the work in doing the fanbinding for these; I just added the hooks and locked the clasps with some pliers. Check out her process on bookmaking here and here.
💛 you know me well, @marvinhere! The gif is not great but does at least display the current birdish collection.
While I’ve generic species I return to (horse, biped, bird) I’ve not yet tried to refine it further... but that said- of the birds so far the red and orange ones were made with chickens in mind, the blue some sort of sea bird, and the green some sort of forest bird. The closest I’ve come to a specific is a “quail” bird book that’s still in pieces, tucked away in one of my many WIP boxes...
If I tripled the size of these I think I’d have enough room to successfully craft the feet and details but to better mimic coloring/real bird-ness I think I’d need to flip the orientation-- is the book’s spine the “front” or “back” of a creature?
🤯 tiny book beasts!!!

Started a little over half a year ago, I have finally completed my first “books in books” project! There’s elation, there’s pride, and there’s a sense of relief in the project turning out pretty much how I’d hoped it would from the start. Although instead of just one series tucked into a book, I’ve two!
This six (seven?) book set features two series by @argyleheir, both canon divergent from the Dracula 2020 Netflix series (which itself is already a canon divergent off of Dracula). Be warned, they are both very explicate.
A Gentleman Vampire’s Dossier [AO3] is the 4 book series- each book exactly 5k- done in black with spattered edges, hand sewn headbands, home made cover paper, and home marbled end pagers. It was done first, completed in… December?
House of Dracula (Fearful Symmetry AU) [AO3] is the 2 book series- both ~13k- done in red suede on bible paper with home marbled end pages. It was completed early April.
The enclosing book was painstakingly cut throughout April to early May (worked on during HavenCon!), covered in leather with cranberry alcohol ink staining the edges. I’ll have a post later bemoaning the process in greater detail.

Things that are probably too disturbing for me to be looking at before bed. . .
No. 9 - RUMORS OF MY DEATH HAVE BEEN GREATLY EXAGGERATED
presumed dead | (blind) rage | tears
“Will this kill you? Eventually?” she asked, reaching forward to press on the beam spearing him.
“Of course not,” he coughed, some fresh blood forcing its way up past his lips.
[this is the result of @festering-queen and I hanging out on Draw Pile and it was amaaaaaaazing. She knows how to lay things out and I, left unattended for 15 seconds on any patch of canvas just knock the proportions askew. It was fascinating to watch. Also, how blessed is one to witness a scene from their story laid out by a reader? 🙏]
Whumptober Day 5: Broken Nose
Holy moly creep-tastic. Talk about spook-tober.
Inktober Day 4: Knot
No. 4 - TRUST FALL
“Do you trust me?” | taken hostage | pushed
“Boo”
Don't know why but this makes me giggle.
No. 5 - I’VE GOT RED IN MY LEDGER
betrayal | misunderstanding | broken nose
“P- Please, my Lord, it- it’s just a simple misunderstanding…”
