I love connecting all my ships to each other. Like yes byler is an artist and writer and aziracrow could also be an artist and writer. Aziracrow is Angel and demon and according to WSQKsync Mike sees Will as an Angel. And you know, Ronan worships Adam as if he is Biblical (I mean, his name is literally Adam Parrish and he lives in a church), they are Angel and Dreamer. Which reminds me of an Angel and Dreamer aziracrow edit. Pynch is Dreamer/Creator and Magician, and byler is as well, with Will being “magician” (don’t kill me, Mike) and Mike as DM being Dreamer/Creator. And, fuck it, throw jjpope in there too, they are similar to pynch in personality. Now how can I involve gallavich and solangelo lol well Will always being bathed in sun means Mike views him as his sunlight which equals solangelo. Ugh I love them all.

Crazy seeing people say “If this wasn’t queer, there would have been a (romantic, rather than desperate) kiss!” Despite Gabriel and Beelzebub (and some of the human couples) clearly being a romantic couple without ever kissing.

To me it’s the opposite way. Calling the finale “queerbaiting” or “without love/romance” falls more in line with heteronormativity I’ve seen (regarding other shows). A straight couple can look at each other for 0.2 seconds and immediately be considered a canon couple. But two men can go on dates, hold hands, have an (extremely in-character and romantic) indirect kiss, and state how much they admire the other and they’re not canon?

You’re allowed to be upset. While I don’t entirely agree, you’re allowed to think it’s bad writing. But, c’mon, maybe rethink some of what’s being said right now?

For the first time ever, I’m attempting to refrain from starting arguments (partly because after Stranger Things I am so tired of the huge inter-fandom divides) but mostly because I really do understand being upset about losing the Angel-Demon relationship and even about there not being a real second kiss (because now the only kiss is desperate and depressing, no kiss would be fine if not for that past one), but this just pisses me off.

Maybe it’s just the comparison to Stranger Things, because, while an Angel and Demon somehow finding each other in every time period is amazing, an entire story starting because one little boy was more willing to accept the impossible than his best friend being dead would have been perfect. With season one of Mike having a little crush and acting a little different with Will compared to the others, then season two having a bigger crush and acting a lot more different, then knowing he’s different and pushing everyone away to focus on being “normal” in season three, to feeling more unsure throughout season four, and finally starting to accept himself in season five when Will gets powers; then all that down the drain and completely ignored for the rest of the season. Comparing THAT to the ending of Good Omens is batshit insane.

Then complaining about no kiss as if there was nothing. Again, I understand upset at their only kiss being sad but we still got a perfect call back to Aziraphale touching his lips last season, a very in-character move from Aziraphale, and an extremely romantic scene!

Then to say “no gay” and “without love,” which is on par with calling it queerbait or not canon. What?! Been seeing people calling the fandom acephobic and I’ve been like “ehh I don’t know about that” but I do get it now because even just talking about them as Angel and Demon, not their human versions, there is so much love between them both verbally and physically. Reminds me of people saying “they’re canon in every universe except this one.” What on earth are these people talking about? I need them to point out what specifically they think isn’t canon or queer when it was all of those (at the very least one-sided) last season, and now we have a return of the kiss, holding hands, and saying the most romantic things about each other (and they’re MARRIED as humans)!

I suppose it’s true that they committed sacrificial suicide (because I’m so tired of arguing with idiots who watched Stranger Things claiming that El didn’t commit suicide because it was “just a sacrifice to help her family”), especially considering they had no idea that they would “come back” in any way. But the actions of characters matter more in the context of the rest of the show and the message the audience receives from them. Despite them not knowing they would come back (sorta), there’s a reason there’s now humans who look like them, act like them, and are named similarly to them; the whole point is that it’s not entirely a “new universe,” it’s meant to be the same, just without any divine intervention (outside of creating it, which is also a pretty common religious belief). Now, the things meant to happen, will happen on their own, and they do! Even if Aziraphale and Crowley technically “committed suicide,” the message isn’t about that, it’s about how humanity is most important and the divine don’t understand them and should not interfere in their lives, the same message from the start of the show.

Imagine finding out you have 90 minutes to tie up a love story that's developed over thousands of years. You create something beautifully in character and completely on point for the plot. You pay homage to the original writer's legacy in a fitting and poetic way and create an ending that not only shows the depth of two people's love for each other but the wider love they have for the thing that brought them together in the first place.

And then you go online to find the loudest outcry is that everyone hates it and "THEY DIDN'T EVEN KISS!"

I feel sorry for people who didn't get anything out of that stunning finale.

Love, romance, and care is more than the physical and intimate moments. The hand kiss is SO much more powerful (to me) than any lip to lip kiss. Sorry but that is old news and in every single piece of media.

Good omens shows so much more little details that love is all emcompassing than a kiss or sex scenes. Love is being considered. Love is being thought of. love is allowing yourself to ask for help. GAHHH! Sorry to rant on this reblog. But I fully agree that its disappointing to see people complain online about one single sign of affection when there is SO MUCH MORE than that!!

I think people have a hard time seeing the “possibility” of byler because of a heteronormative point of view. All that a straight couple needs to be insinuated is looking at each other a bit too long or even simply spending more time together just the two of them. If Will were a girl, it’d be obvious to everyone.

If he were a girl, Mike saying they’d go “crazy together” would make people ship it. If he were a girl, Mike holding “her” hand after protecting “her” would make it seem like a possible future canon ship. If he were a girl, Mike breaking up with El (then El being told by Max that he’ll come running back to apologize) then immediately running to apologize to “Willow” and NOT El would confirm it as a love triangle. If he were a girl, a whole season focusing on “her” falling in love with Mike and Mike not being able to say he loves his current girlfriend would make a relationship between them very, very likely. If he were a girl, Mike only being able to eventually tell El he loves her after falling in love… with “Willow’s” words/feelings (through the Cyrano trope) would 100% confirm that they would end in a relationship. If Will were a girl, they would be together, but because he’s a boy, the Duffers don’t have to, they can just ignore all of their previous writing.

Granted, I’m not saying the whole show is a super calculated queerbait (that’d be evil on a whole new level). There’s no doubt in my mind that it was planned from the start and scrapped last minute for whatever reason (likely a combination of Trump’s re-election, the writer’s strike, and Ross’ divorce, especially when cast/crew have already said all three have had an impact on the show).

I think Mike is more likely to experiment with gender expression and nonconformity than Will is, despite Will being the canonically gay one, based on his previous experimentation with his hair (already going against a gender stereotype by growing his hair out and then wanting to get a bright orange Mohawk which is certainly not conforming) and having two sisters (likely how he knew how to do makeup). Will’s one (slightly) feminine trait is liking art, and he is viewed as queer (by the town) for being sensitive, quiet, and smaller, but despite the art I just don’t view it as more likely for him. Not to mention, Dustin has a more feminine interest than any of Will’s lol (My Little Pony).
