Burning Man 2015
I have the greatest news, everyone!!
Are you ready??
We got the news yesterday that my group, Border Burners, has been officially invited to join Burning Man’s Conclave this year to perform the show I wrote for Carnival of Mirrors!!
This means that I will be living in the Nevada desert for 9 days for the second largest regional burn!
This also means that I have so much work to do in only one month!!
I am trying to raise money to make sure I can make it to my performance and survive out there! It will take a couple days to drive to Black Rock City too so I will be out for about 2 weeks.
I included a video of the show that we put together so you could all see!
The show is about two people who go into the carnival of mirrors and have two completely different experiences. Kalan and I are the two that go in to the Carnival in the very beginning and we are separated by the light and the dark experience.
This is the show we will be doing right before the man burns.
All I ask it for you to follow this link and donate $2 to help us cover food and travel and share this post to spread the word!
I also have an Etsy page to raise money for this trip as well, if you would like to see our other work click here! If you ever thought about purchasing something, now would be the time!!
We have 7 weeks until we leave for Burning Man!!
We still have to get a bike, a bike rack, food and water, dust masks, and all other survival gear.
I want to also thank anyone who has already helped us out! Traveling and performing has been my dream and I’m so glad that I’ve been able to do so much in just one year. Going to Burning Man to perform is also going to get me so many more jobs doing what I love!
If you have any questions about what I do, send me a message!
This is my favorite job.
Beginner Hooping: A self teaching tutorial list.
The issue lies, as a beginner, in knowing where to start, what to learn and in what order. I have compiled a list of tutorials for you to follow as you start out on your journey. I have primarily included moves I consider to be the building blocks of hooping - the basics which will set you up for all other moves to come.
For the-crane-dance and anyone else learning to hoop dance by themselves!
I might do some follow on posts with more beginner and intermediate moves but this basically covers all of your foundation moves.
Sarah Lynn Mah, otherwise known as Sari Mah, takes us with her on a hooping expedition all over Lane County in Oregon. With special appearances by little Juliet Ten Eyck, go along for the ride for some stunning scenery, slick moves and sweet smiles. Video by Keith and Skye Ten Eyck of Radiance Photographics. Sarah is currently living in Eugene, Oregon, USA, and the soundtrack for this is “Sleepyhead” by Passion Pit and you can score a copy of it for your own collection on iTunes. It’s on hooping.org.
