“It’ll be soon, no worries. We’ll have our baby girl so soon.” Shay smiles softly and squeezes Naya’s hand gently.
Naya nods with a smile, the thought of having their baby girl definitely outweighing the fears she has. She then listens to the doctor as she runs down a few options for dates.

“No, she can’t. She needs to come out, especially because you’re getting so uncomfortable.” Shay reassures her.
Naya nods, “that’s true. Alright, whenever you think we should do it, we will.” She says, directing that at the doctor.

“Yay! We finally get a date!” Shay laughs and watches Naya’s expression as the doctor speaks to them.
Naya can’t help but smile when she hears Shay’s reaction. “I guess a date isn’t necessarily a bad idea. She can’t stay in there forever.”

Shay stays quiet as the exam goes on, letting the doctor focus and being sure not to ignore her with questions. Eventually their baby girl will be here, whether it’s a scheduled delivery or not. The last thing she’s doing is worrying about that, even though all she wants is to make Naya comfortable.
Eventually the doctor is done and she tells Naya she can sit up again. Once she does, the doctor starts explaining how even though everything looks good, they should probably schedule a date to have her go into the hospital to be induced. Naya bites her lip at that nervously and turns to face Shay just to get some reassurance from her.

Shay stays close to Naya as the exam is going on, wanting her to always be comfortable. Her hand stays tight in Naya’s, rubbing the back of it gently with her thumb.
Naya is definitely a little bit worried as the doctor is examining her, most just worried that everything was actually okay with her and the baby. She looks over at Shay every few minutes to help her relax and that instantly puts her at ease.

“Well, we’ll worry about that when it comes.” Shay reaches up and presses a gentle kiss to the back of her wife’s hand. “Let’s just worry about getting her here first.”
Naya nods, “that sounds good to me.” She then focuses on what the doctor is saying and leans back so she can go through the exam.

“I’d love that, but I think it’ll be awhile before we get her sleeping like we want.” Shay laughs and then gently squeezes Naya’s hand.
“Well, she’s definitely not going to be sleeping at night but you know how newborns are. They sleep on and off almost all day long. We’ll just have to have day dates.”

“I’m down for spending way more time together,” she smiles wide and grabs her hand when Naya does. Shay gently rubs Naya’s hand with her thumb and watches the doctor.
“So am I. We might have to just make it time at home when the baby comes. We can get one of our moms or someone to watch the bigger three and then we’ll just be with a newborn who sleeps all the time.” Naya chuckles with a shrug.

“We would be so popular. Forget acting, we’ll make double the money we do now.” Shay laughs and shakes her head fondly. When the doctor comes into the room, she offers a soft smile then steps to the side to make some space.
“For sure. And if we can make double the money without having to act, we’d get to spend way more time together.” Naya adds on happily. When Shay moves off to the side, she makes sure to grab her hand so she can’t get too far away.

“I’m sure you are, you’re so overdue. I can’t even imagine. I wish I could push a button and take her out for you. I want you to feel better,” she presses another kiss to Naya’s forehead.
“That would be so awesome. I feel like we need to invent that button. People will love us.” Naya laughs and she’s about to say something else when the doctor knocks on the door and comes into the room.

“It’s my job to take care of you, I love it. You’re my favorite, after all.” Shay begins to gently rub Naya’s back and rests her chin against her head for just a moment. “I can’t wait either, I’m tired of only getting to see her on the screen. I want to see her in real life.”
“The feeling is mutual, my girl. I love taking care of you and spoiling you and I really just love loving you.” Naya rests her chest for a second, the feeling calming her instantly. “You and me, both. I’m tired of seeing her on the screen and I’m also tired of having to carry her around in my belly all the time.”

“I’m glad I can make you feel better. My goal is to keep you as comfortable as possible right now, you deserve it. My poor, pregnant baby girl.” Shay pokes out her lip, knowing how uncomfortable Naya must be right now. She remembers how awful it felt at the end and can’t imagine being this overdue. “I really hope so, I can’t wait to meet her.”
“You have definitely went above and beyond on that front, babe. I’m so lucky to have you all the time, but you’ve been incredible lately. Taking such good care of me.” Naya smiles, the way she pokes out her lip makes her melt at how cute she is. Being overdue has been so hard on her and Shay has done everything she can to make her happy. “I can’t wait, either. Can’t wait for her to just get here already.”

Shay steps a bit closer when she can tell Naya wants her to, she then faces her and wraps both arms around her to lean down and press a kiss to her forehead. “I’ll take it too, even if it starts in a doctors office. I love any time with you, though..” Shay leans down to peck her lips.
Naya melts at the sweet kiss to her forehead and she wraps both of her arms around her in response. “Definitely. This isn’t exactly the most fun place to be but having you with me makes it much better.” She agrees, kissing her and smiling against her lips. “I’m hoping the doctor will decide on when we get to evict this lazy little lady, too..”

Shay stood next to the table with her hand holding tightly onto Naya’s. They had spent so much time at the doctors office in the past few months, she was definitely ready for it to be done and for them to have their little baby girl. She looks around the room for a few moments, then looks over at her wife and laughs softly. “It’s alright, gotta work in those dates whenever we can. It’s about to get even harder to have alone time.”
Naya smiles and takes the hand from Shay’s so she can wrap it around her wife’s waist to try to pull her a little closer while they wait. “That’s very true. We are definitely going to have to sneak in as much alone time as we can before that happens. I’ll take what I can get when it comes to spending time with my favorite person in the world.” She smiles, leaning up a little bit to kiss her quickly.

Naya was sitting on the exam table waiting for her doctor to come in, her hand holding tight to Shay’s as they waited. She was hoping this would be her last appointment and that has her super excited but also nervous for it to get going. The nurse had gone through the basics and now she just had to wait for the doctor to come in and do what she was sure would be a pretty quick exam and then she and Shay could get on with their night. “This is a definite weird start to a date night,” she laughs, turning to look at her wife.

“Well, do you want to try some of those tricks?” Shay begins to rub Naya’s back gently. “There are a ton of things we can do.”
She looks up at her and nods softly. “Yeah, let’s do it. There really isn’t anything to lose by trying.” She says with a shrug.

“Well, that might be what you have to do. We can try things to move it along, but if the doctor wants to induce you then we have to listen. It might just be safer for you and for our baby girl.”
Naya sighs at first but then quickly nods because she knows that she’d have to do what was best for their baby. “If that’s what we gotta do, you know it’s what I’ll do. It’s just not ideal, I guess.”
