“It’ll be soon, no worries. We’ll have our baby girl so soon.” Shay smiles softly and squeezes Naya’s hand gently.

“No, she can’t. She needs to come out, especially because you’re getting so uncomfortable.” Shay reassures her.

“Yay! We finally get a date!” Shay laughs and watches Naya’s expression as the doctor speaks to them.

Shay stays quiet as the exam goes on, letting the doctor focus and being sure not to ignore her with questions. Eventually their baby girl will be here, whether it’s a scheduled delivery or not. The last thing she’s doing is worrying about that, even though all she wants is to make Naya comfortable.

Shay stays close to Naya as the exam is going on, wanting her to always be comfortable. Her hand stays tight in Naya’s, rubbing the back of it gently with her thumb.

“Well, we’ll worry about that when it comes.” Shay reaches up and presses a gentle kiss to the back of her wife’s hand. “Let’s just worry about getting her here first.”

“I’m down for spending way more time together,” she smiles wide and grabs her hand when Naya does. Shay gently rubs Naya’s hand with her thumb and watches the doctor.

“So am I. We might have to just make it time at home when the baby comes. We can get one of our moms or someone to watch the bigger three and then we’ll just be with a newborn who sleeps all the time.” Naya chuckles with a shrug.

“I’d love that, but I think it’ll be awhile before we get her sleeping like we want.” Shay laughs and then gently squeezes Naya’s hand.

“We would be so popular. Forget acting, we’ll make double the money we do now.” Shay laughs and shakes her head fondly. When the doctor comes into the room, she offers a soft smile then steps to the side to make some space.

“It’s my job to take care of you, I love it. You’re my favorite, after all.” Shay begins to gently rub Naya’s back and rests her chin against her head for just a moment. “I can’t wait either, I’m tired of only getting to see her on the screen. I want to see her in real life.”

“The feeling is mutual, my girl. I love taking care of you and spoiling you and I really just love loving you.” Naya rests her chest for a second, the feeling calming her instantly. “You and me, both. I’m tired of seeing her on the screen and I’m also tired of having to carry her around in my belly all the time.”

“I’m sure you are, you’re so overdue. I can’t even imagine. I wish I could push a button and take her out for you. I want you to feel better,” she presses another kiss to Naya’s forehead.

“I’m glad I can make you feel better. My goal is to keep you as comfortable as possible right now, you deserve it. My poor, pregnant baby girl.” Shay pokes out her lip, knowing how uncomfortable Naya must be right now. She remembers how awful it felt at the end and can’t imagine being this overdue. “I really hope so, I can’t wait to meet her.”

Shay stood next to the table with her hand holding tightly onto Naya’s. They had spent so much time at the doctors office in the past few months, she was definitely ready for it to be done and for them to have their little baby girl. She looks around the room for a few moments, then looks over at her wife and laughs softly. “It’s alright, gotta work in those dates whenever we can. It’s about to get even harder to have alone time.”

Naya smiles and takes the hand from Shay’s so she can wrap it around her wife’s waist to try to pull her a little closer while they wait. “That’s very true. We are definitely going to have to sneak in as much alone time as we can before that happens. I’ll take what I can get when it comes to spending time with my favorite person in the world.” She smiles, leaning up a little bit to kiss her quickly.

Shay steps a bit closer when she can tell Naya wants her to, she then faces her and wraps both arms around her to lean down and press a kiss to her forehead. “I’ll take it too, even if it starts in a doctors office. I love any time with you, though..” Shay leans down to peck her lips.

Naya was sitting on the exam table waiting for her doctor to come in, her hand holding tight to Shay’s as they waited. She was hoping this would be her last appointment and that has her super excited but also nervous for it to get going. The nurse had gone through the basics and now she just had to wait for the doctor to come in and do what she was sure would be a pretty quick exam and then she and Shay could get on with their night. “This is a definite weird start to a date night,” she laughs, turning to look at her wife.

“Well, that might be what you have to do. We can try things to move it along, but if the doctor wants to induce you then we have to listen. It might just be safer for you and for our baby girl.”

Naya sighs at first but then quickly nods because she knows that she’d have to do what was best for their baby. “If that’s what we gotta do, you know it’s what I’ll do. It’s just not ideal, I guess.”

“Well, do you want to try some of those tricks?” Shay begins to rub Naya’s back gently. “There are a ton of things we can do.”

Naya relaxes into her arms and already feels herself feeling a bit better. “I wish there was something we could do, too. I wish I could just snap my fingers and it would happen. My doctor said they’re going to induce soon if nothing happens. I don’t necessarily want that, either…”

Shay immediately takes Naya’s hands and gets a bit closer to her, “It doesn’t seem like you’re okay, baby girl.” She moves to sit next to her wife and presses a kiss to her head. “I can tell that you’re tired, it’s no fun. I know. I’m so, so sorry.”

Naya had of course been right and Shay instantly knew that she wasn’t okay and even more than that, she instantly knew exactly what was wrong. She leans against her when she’s sitting next to her and she wraps an arm around her waist. “I’m just over this. Of course I’m thrilled to be carrying our baby girl, I’m just tired. I want her out of me already.”

Shay nods and wraps her arms a bit tighter around Naya, “I get it. I’m really sorry. I wish I could do something to make it happen right away. I can’t wait to see our new baby girl, it’ll be so soon.”
