RIP Moses
Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp â Seattle SuperSonics
Somethingâs wrong with this picture.
:( :( :( :( :(
Fat Patrick CHEwing.Â
âWhen I dunked on him and got the foul, I looked up to my boys in the stands and said, âNow what?â Iâm in the NBA. What can be better than to be the No. 1 pick and dunk on your idol?â
Ben Rohrbach revisits Chris Webberâs famed behind-the-back throwdown on Charles Barkley early in the 1993-94 season, as Ball Donât Lieâs Dunk History series rolls on.
Reggie Miller â Indiana Pacers
âThe Knicks, due entirely to the work of the teamâs inherited owner, have been a laughing stock for a decade and a half. That shouldnât take away from a franchise history that remains so stout that Willis Reed couldnât crack the starting lineup.â â Kelly Dwyer, who tabbed Patrick Ewing, Bernard King, Dave DeBusschere, Allan Houston and Walt âClydeâ Frazier as the Knickerbockersâ All-Time Starting Five.
Who would you pick?
This is why Kelly has to do these. Iâd pick John Starks over Allan Houston 100 times out of 100 even if it doesnât make any sense.
4 NBA Hipster Legends on that list.Â
Itâs not easy to pick an All-Time Starting Five for the Boston Celtics, an organization with a legacy so strong and so many numbers retired that newcomers wind up taking digits like 90. But we did it anyway. Which Boston ballers would make up your five?
The Menâs World Cup Final got nearly 1 billion views! Compare that to the womenâs 25m for their biggest game.Â
The round of 16 had 8 total games, the USMNT might have only had 16.5m views but the round in aggregate probably had a ton more than that. Each team splits the money. So the USMNT benefits from the popularity of all the other teams in that round. I donât know for sure, but Iâd go out on a limb and say that there were probably Round of 16 games for the Menâs WC that had more viewers than the Womenâs Final. Bet the house on that.Â
The US teams ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES GETTING PAID. And they are not ONLY being paid by US television stations.Â
How much merchandise was sold during the USWNT World Cup run? I bet you itâs not even close to what was sold for the Menâs team. Thatâs not even counting all the WC logoâd junk people probably bought.Â
Sorry, but if you think the Womenâs WC generates ANYWHERE near as much money than the Menâs then you need to go sit down, you have no clue what you are talking about.Â
Not NBA, but my take on the World Cup.
