(Also, even I, a pathologically hyperbolic person, cannot find it in my heart to declare a ‘best’ peal, they’re all amazing and I love them to tears, but this here drawing was basically an excuse to draw Yellow Pearl, cuz she is both awesome and underappreciated.)

Eyyyy so I’m pretty sure I can announce this now, my webcomic, Moss Grove is back in production. I have had a really difficult time getting it off the ground, it’s been with me for years while I’ve battled illness and whatnot. Finallly I think I am back on my feet enough that I can put my weight behind a proper second launch. Tentatively, the first pages will be online by winter of this year. I’ll do my best to continue to update as things develop in the coming weeks and months. 

In case you are new to this blog and my comics, here is a synopsis:

Hidden in the deep shade of knotted forests and steep canyons of ancient and isolated hills is the ramshackle hamlet of Moss Grove. Izzie Hartman is sent to this perpetually-decaying village to spend the summer among her mother's family on the overgrown Abendroth farm, supposedly to help with their boring hillbilly business, whatever it is. But it quickly becomes apparent that the Abendroths are the owners of a supernatural secret both old and strange that lies under every inch of ground in Moss Grove, and Izzie is rapidly swept up in the current. Accompanied by a punch-happy amnesiac and a manic water witch, Izzie finds herself thrust into a new and exciting life replete with magic and mischief. Genre: Shonen, action, fantasy, comedy.

Also, general Maga update: I admit (as I have previously) that I have had a really, really hard time continuing any sort of work in that story because of the EXTREME bad luck I had with the title. SO I am changing the title of the story to ‘The Moghu’, effective immediately. It’s the same word root and means the same thing in the fiction (’lady wizard’, ‘witch’) and although the difference pains me I seriously doubt anyone other than language history nerds will care at all. Anyways this will be the last time I use the maga tag.

It’s weird to me that CRPG fans are so dour, cuz CRPGs are anime as fuck.

This is my Pillars of Eternity character, Nataya. I started with her in Deadfire, but it’s been too long since I played the first game so I’m gonna just start over from the beginning with her. I usually play mages who confuse complaining for being cool, but this time I decided I’d play someone with untroubled motives but who sucks at talking and rocks at punching. We can talk for five minutes, and if the problem isn’t solved after that they can sort it out when they regain consciousness.

Sheesh, what a winter. Anyone tells you being disabled is easy, the law says you only have to correct them once before you’re allowed to punch them a lot.

Anyways! This was a twitter challenge a friend made and tbh I have always wanted an excuse to make a Pokemon AU for them.  I had to sit down and ask myself, what do the gals do in the Pokemon world? Are they normal trainers? Do they run a shop? Some other more specific thing? I thought about it for a long time. Anyways, the answer is they're a girl gang and the rob banks.

--- In case you're wondering, the Pokemon are named as follows: Millie's Haunter is named Haunter. Izzie's Sylveon is named Her Eminence the Baroness Silkybottom the Third (HEBS3 on forms). Emily's Ivysaur is named OH SHIT HE, as in OH SHIT HE USED VINE WHIP.

She searches for a cure to her illness, a self-inflicted wound of supernatural pride, and seeks for answers in the rubble of a time lost in memory . . .

(1) this was supposed to be a full layered costume, but I realized the green scapular thing she wears covers basically her whole body, so it didn’t get much beyond underwear. (2) A magic dude. Mysterious! (3) Mockup for a a first chapter title-page. I don’t like the regular letters, but the art works I think. (4) A thumbnail.

I also have a half-finished nice piece I’ll try to have pulled together in a form I won’t be embarrassed to show by later today or tomorrow.

Did you ever plan on doing anything else with Maga? The art and design are so neat, I'd love to see more!

Sorry for answering this so late! I get asks rarely so I sometimes forget to log in for a while.

I have a bunch of Maga designs (and part of a script), it’s just I got caught up with the name because of the election and whatnot. I’m still torn about whether I should rename it or just deal with the confused people that’ll come across it. I have a story and whatnot, I just have to get off my rear and do something with it.

Thanks for reminding me that there’s interest in it! It means a lot!

Devilman : Crybaby is pretty cool, but I think the 80s OVA designs are more interesting to the eye, and I appreciate the B-movie appeal the English dub has. Still, hard to beat that big ol’ white coat Ryo gets in the new one.
