I think a lot about the fact that if Jackie hadn't slotted the Relic into V's head, it would be him having to deal with Johnny. I think about how Jackie looked up to Johnny and other people like him. I think about the saying "never meet your heros. They'll just disappoint you."
I definitely had this thought during the game... if the chip had still been in Jackie when he died, how that alters the entire structure of the game. Jackie, alive, in a situation where V doesn't go in to see Dex. So they're tracked by Dex, by Goro... Jackie trying to deal with the fact that THE Johnny Silverhand ended up in his head, and oh, also he's a collasal asshole!! And also it's killing him [two very sad and sarcastic thumbs up], his best friend blames themself for it and is running themselves ragged trying to find a fix, etc etc.

"Mr. Welles has passed--" Delamain's voice cuts through the fog in V's brain. They're pretty sure they're gonna throw up, hands shaking, as they turn to look at him again.
"W-what?" They start to learn forward; Dex will want that chip, after all. Jackie's hand had fallen before ejecting it earlier, and V hadn't had the heart or stomach to remove it. It would probably be fine... s'long as Jack hadn't... hadn't -- V swallows, hard.
"The Excelsior package provides for the disposal of passenger remains free of -- excuse me. My deepest apologies, but I am now detecting life signs."
"What?" V's fingers freeze, millimeters from the emergency release behind Jackie's ear, then they scramble, going to Jackie's throat. Nothing. Then... a flutter. A pulse.
"Take us to Vik Vektor right the fuck now!" the yelling had gotten V nowhere before but maybe, this time?
Delamain seems to hesitate, "My destination cannot be changed but... technically, we have arrived. My contract with Dexter DeShawn has thus been fulfilled."
"So drive, damnit!"
"There is the matter of payment." Jackie suddenly groans, and V flicks their wrist at Delamain front console, panicked.
"Take it all, I don't care, just go." V's hands are on Jackie's face, patting him soft but urgent. C'mon, c'mon. "Jack, please."
The taxi rumbles toward the street, the No-Tell Motel's florescent sign streaking into nothing behind them as Jackie's eyes begin to move, rapid-fire behind his eyelids.

the man gives teddy bear vibes. he probably sleeps flat on his back, but if you’re asleep next to him he HAS to have a hold on you.
the man could be in a dead sleep and he’d just subconsciously turn into you, get those big bear arms around you and snore softly into your hair.
and FUCK he’s warm. in the dead of winter he’s like a space heater.
aside from sleeping, he’s generally a touchy person. he always has an arm around you and if he can’t have you cuddled up against his side, he has a hand on your thigh or his fingers interlock with yours. every now and again he’d press idle kisses to your head and murmur sweet words in a low, husky whisper only you can hear. every now and again he’d slip something in that makes your cheeks turn pink and you slap his arm gently, which prompts that deep laugh of his to rumble out his chest.
Please don't imagine Jackie and V jamming out to Samurai in the hotel before the heist.
Please don't imagine that every time a Samurai song comes on the radio, V changes it and Johnny makes a snarky little comment about it in the beginning but quickly shuts up about it later on.
Please especially don't think about V going to Jackie's funeral and softly singing Never Fade Away to his ofrenda when no one's around. One last song with a choom...or for a choom.
Johnny doesn't mention anything about how V sounds when singing, but offers a silent support by not saying anything.
