What pisses me off most about the Supernatural finale is that things ended exactly where they started.

We had seasons upon seasons of the brothers and Castiel making their own choices, writing their own stories, going their own way. They defeated God, the ultimate author/puppeteer of the universe.

And yet...

Dean was daddy’s good little soldier to the very end. He died working a case his dad never finished with Sam having to watch as the life drained from Dean’s body. Fuck his character development. Let him die slowly and painfully and pitifully.

This is what 15 seasons culminated to. A circle. A fucking circle. Dean deserved to be free of his father’s bullshit, that cycle, his codependency with Sam. Hell, I would’ve even taken a non-Destiel ending if it meant the brothers could actually develop apart from each other.

But no, in the end, it was just them back where they started. Just two brothers. Not anyone else. No Jody, Donna, Ellen, Jo, Castiel, Jack, Rufus, Claire, Kaia, Adam. Barely any Bobby. No one.

The show claimed to be about family not ending with blood. And yet it did.

And fuck that.
