CW: Implied stalking, arguing that gets out of hand, general toxic yandere behavior
I never should have let you leave that night.
Do you remember it? We had been fighting about... something. Something trivial, I'm sure, since I can't even remember what it was about.
There were tears in your eyes. You were shouting at me, trying to get me to listen to you, just once, but I ignored you. I interrupted you with whatever nonsense I wanted to say.
When you fell silent, I thought I had won. I thought I would take you back to our bed and wipe your tears away.
But then you turned your back on me, opened the front door, and walked out.
At first, I was too shocked to think of anything. I just stood there, staring at the place where you had stood.
It wasn't until long after I heard your car start up and drive that I could even comprehend what I had just lost. What a fool I was.
I spent so long trying to find you. Moving states, changing your phone number. You even dyed your hair. And while it is a lovely color now, you should go back to your natural color now that I'm here.
Relax, my beloved. Look at me. There now, don't cry for me.
I know, I know. You're afraid that we'll fight again. And we probably will. We'll fight and scream, and I'll make you cry again.
But I'll never give up on us. We belong together, I know it. I know it like I know my own soul.
I'll be better this time, I promise. I'll listen to everything you have to say.
Please, come here my beloved. Let me hold you on our bed like I used to, with your head on my chest.
(Writing this because I need more yandere fiction to read.)
Fem Reader Yandere x Masc Diner Owner Darling
Based on the song "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega (but I also listened to the cover from AnnenMayKantereit x Giant Rooks while writing this is)
CW: Stalking, obsessive behavior, mentally unhealthy yandere. Also, reader yan is kind of a loser lol. SFW.
Rain patters on the red fabric awning outside the diner. Coffee bubbles in the coffee pot. But otherwise, it's quiet.
You hate how quiet it is. It's not your fault that your shy. You've always struggled to start a conversation.
Now Tom, on the other hand, what could his excuse be? Such a kind and friendly man, and yet he's barely said a word to you this whole time.
You're the only customer in here, so shouldn't he talk to you more? Do you look unfriendly? Your parents always tried to get you to smile more when you were little and they were introducing you to new people. You never liked it, though. It felt fake to you.
"Please promise me you'll try to smile," your mom would say. "It makes your face look open and friendly."
Maybe Tom doesn't like people with closed faces.
Today, Tom is wearing green apron stained with flour. He must've been baking something when you came in and didn't change. Maybe he was baking sourdough bread for the sandwiches later, or maybe a new cake to put in the display counter.
When he blinks, his eyelids don't go up all the way. His eyes must be swollen.
Is it allergies? Or did he cry last night?
Who would dare to make such a kind man cry?
You came here early so that you could be his first customer and have him all to yourself. And now here you are, not talking to him.
At last, the coffee finishes brewing. He takes the pot and sets a white mug in front of you.
"Here you go, ma'am," he says as he smiles at you.
And there it is. The smile that made you fall for him. It's a smile that makes you feel like the only person in the world.
You smile back. You can't help it. It's infectious.
But then you hear the doorbell ring as it opens, and he stops pouring the coffee halfway through.
You're about to complain, until you realize that he's already turned that devastating smile away from you towards the woman who has come in. She's shaking out the rainwater from her pink umbrella.
"Julia!" he calls out, and your heart sinks. "It's always nice to see you. How are you today?"
"I'm fine, Tom," she says as she hangs her umbrella on the coatrack. "Ugh, I hate rainy days. They're so dreary, y'know?"
He comes out from behind the counter to kiss her on the cheek, and you, you can't look anymore. Instead, you grab the pitcher of milk and fill up the rest of your mug with it.
Why does Tom like her so much? She always complains. If it's not the weather, it's her job or her clothes or her neighbors. She's even complained about Tom's sourdough bread.
Does he like her because she's beautiful, and open-faced?
Julia takes a seat at the counter, three chairs away from you. She turns her body slightly so that her back is to you, cutting off any possibility of a conversation with the two of them. Tom mirrors her body language.
You can't keep watching. You don't want him to invite you the conversation now, out of pity for your loneliness. Not that you think he would. Julia consumes all of his attention. He doesn't even bother to bring the coffee pot back to you.
Instead, he fills her mug up to the top.
You open your newspaper to hide from the awkwardness.
Today was a disaster.
But you'll be back tomorrow.
Yes, these things take time. It's far too early to throw in the towel.
And today, you can console yourself by following Julia wherever she goes when she leaves.
After all, even if he comes to like you, she will get in the way.
You'll have to take her out first.
One day, one day he'll be all yours. One day, he will smile only for you.
Your grasp on the newspaper tightens at the thought.
