The Sunnyside sign
A piece about saving 5pointz which was a warehouse that was allowed to be covered in street art. It became the mecca of graffiti in New York City. However, the owner of the warehouse chose to sell the building in 2013 which would then be torn down and luxury towers would be constructed in its place. The artists tried to prevent it by claiming their art pieces were their property which could not legally destroyed. One night, the nypd oversaw the whitewashing of the whole building which covered every single piece of street art. 5pointz was then shortly torn down. The luxury apartments are now under construction along with a dozen others in the Long Island City area which used to be a manufacturing neighborhood. It now largely resembles the Williamsburg waterfront.

Another great neighborhood in Queens is Flushing. It is know for its great Asian food. My favorite place is a Korean restaurant called Kimganae on Roosevelt Ave and Union St. You can get there by taking the 7 train to the Main St stop. One of the best dishes is the kimchi fried rice. All the entrees come with a side of soup and kimchi.
Astoria is quickly becoming one of the most popular neighborhoods because of its proximity to Manhattan. But it's beautiful in its own right.
Queens has a skyline.

Queens gets a taste of Bacolod, Philippines at House of Inasal in Woodside. Try the famous lemongrass grilled chicken barbecue with garlic rice and a side of pickled papaya (atchara). For dessert have the ube ice cream sandwiches. Masarap (delicious)! Restaurant is closed Mondays.

Some shots of the neighborhood of woodside of the 7 train. Like most of the rest of Queens it is very diverse. Bordering neighborhoods are Sunnyside, Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights.
