I think enough time has gone by between the episodes to mention what an asshole Neil was to try and take Space Kid’s blood without asking. Space Kid is dumb enough to have just agreed if Neil asked him if he could have a sample, but the bastard decided he rather stab Space Kid.

I think that’s because people with large noses and curly hair aren’t really misrepresented in media also like there’s a big difference between drawing someone’s nose smaller and erasing someone’s skin color??
Neil’s nose is part of his character though, if you are his fans, you should want him to be drawn like he is supposed to look and not want to “improve” things and use “art style” as an excuse. Max in the show is orange, Indian people have different shades, so when people don’t want to draw Max orange, but decide to color him one of the other shades of the race he is supposed to be, it is different. As I said, I am not talking about people who draw Max white. People get angry when Max’s hair is drawn wrong too, I’ve seen that, but it is okay to draw Neil’s hair and nose wrong? Just admit you guys don’t like his actual character design or that he is a stereotype Jewish kid with a big nose, so you make your own OC versions of him to make yourselves feel like you are being progressive, when really you are erasing what his actual character traits and personality is.

Frankly, I’m pretty amazed with how hypocritical Neil fans and other Camp Camp fans are! You all throw a fit if Max is a shade or two lighter in skin or not able to get his hair drawn properly because it takes away from him being a boy of color, yet you all support “art style choices” with people who draw Neil’s hair wrong or draw him with a smaller nose, when in the show his nose is pretty big. Gosh, its like people forgot when people were all pissy with the Steven Universe artist who drew Rose a little thinner or Connie’s nose a little smaller. If you are going to draw or support a character one way, but then get upset when someone draws another character another way, then you guys are pretty shitty people. To clarify, I am not talking about people who draw Max white, I’m talking just shades being a little off. Neil might be a shitty character, but at least know how to draw him right if you want to give him proper representation and not a tiny little nose that basically just turns him into an OC.

you heard it here first folks. a real person’s emotions and well being is less important than a fictional characters. Doesn’t matter that I feel invalid, as long as one of the most annoyingly written characters in a show doesn’t feel invalid, amiright?
Neil didn’t even care when Max felt really sick and was having a horrible day after Harrison hit him with his magic instead of Neil, then he almost killed Nikki by shoving everything down her throat, he was being a terrible friend. If Harrison hadn’t actually been there or had real magic, Nikki would have died, and that would have been Neil’s fault! Neil is a shitty son and a shitty friend. If they wanted him to suck less, they should work on his character development like they have done with Max.

Man, Neil fans may actually be insane. A difference in opinion of a fictional character and instead of blocking a blog, they just go batshit. Maybe you all should go soak your heads for a bit and think about what you are actually being offended about. “Seriously, you’re both really sweet~” Erin is blushing at Neil and Tabii is blushing at Snake, it isn’t till they apologize for using them that Neil’s crush went away and Erin’s crush on Snake went away. Erin started to crush on Neil because of what he said to her and Tabii was getting a little crush on Snake. If Neil had not flipped out on Erin, she would have been interested in him.

I’m going to say this exactly one time. We will NOT be engaging with people who bring up how Neil is jewish, or people who call us anti-semitic. Neil being jewish is not a personality trait. It is not an action, a flaw, or a virtue. Both mods here agree that it doesn’t “mold him as a person”, to quote mod scotty. As for anti-semitic comments, this goes both ways. If you call us anti-semites, or say something anti-semitic you will be straight up ignored. Me, mod vera, is jewish. I do not hate my own people, and to insinuate that I do just because I don’t like a character makes me personally uncomfortable.
