Um, anyway, this part is a casual reminder why Vox deserved everything that is coming for him.
Vox doesn't know he's causeing literal war sex flashbacks with his wires, and finds it adorable and cute how Alastor freezes whenever the wire touches him. Alastor hates it but won't tall Vox how much it actually hurts him, not wanting to look weaker than he already is.
Alastor is gripping into his newfound hope as hard as he can, or he'll just break and give up at all.
Alright, i promise, this was the last part of Alastor suffering horrendously and helplessly (in the comic, binus parts however? oh boy). From here we are moving to the ending. Buckle up.

ALASTOR FINALLY KNOWS HOW HE'S GONNA GET OUT AND IS SO HAPPY ABOUT IT! What he's planning? You'll learn soon.
AND CARMILLA LORE DROP LIKE ACTUALLY? A LITTLE BIT? A little bit of explanation, my headcanon that Carmilla ended up in hell couple decades before Alastor. And got reunited with her family AND THAT WASN'T A GOOD THING, because head of the family was some old af ancestor of her, and he of course was abusive as well. So yeah, Carmilla didn't have it good in her first years in hell. Was she specifically SAed? I will not confirm nor deny it. But this is why she's able to catch so easily red flags of someone going through abuse. At first just vibes, then more specific details.
But YOU. HAVE. NO FUCKING IDEA HOW MUCH I'M HOLDING MYSELF FROM DOING ANOTHER BONUS PART where Alastor has a severe mental breakdown and makes some poor desicions that only worsen it. And another part where Vox is actually being nice and sweet and it almost looks like that their relationships may not be as bad and may actually work. Almost. And another part where Vox notises the signs of Al's depression, gets conserned, but not enough to understand what that means and accidentally triggers a flashback for Alastor... and so many more. After all, they still have to live through [purposefuly obscured amount of time] of their "partnership", before Alastor finally gets out. Also bonus parts of their first year before sex, and how Alastor tries to keep living right after, and the pre-deal part of them talking after the bar scene... so. fucking. many. ideas. HELP. but i really wanna make the breakdown one. Someone even said that it hit harder than part 13, which i don't really see, BUT STILL.
YALL GET SEE IT ONE DAY I PROMISE, I just wanna get to the ending as soon as possible, because damn. this been going on MUCH longer than i expected. I mean, first draft had just 65 pages, and this part was supposed tobe like at page 35 or something. And because of how long it's going we're all getting little bit tired of it, including me.
Also, hey, the pride month started and I ACTUALLY HAD ANOTHER COMIC PLANNED FOR IT?? A little bit about relationships between Alastor and Carmilla. First of, I think Carmilla does care about any overlord and considers them... well, not friends, but people that are worth to be worried about. After her family, of course.
And she does care about Alastor too, and she would even have a soft spot for him... if he wasn't acting like a feral brat first few years, being especially mad that Hell has some formalities and he was tricked into accepting them. That behavior killed that soft spot before it could grow.
Though, by now she's learning to handle Alastor and their "love language" is trolling each other, and Carmilla starts liking it, especially when she manages to get on Alastor's nerves with something that isn't paperwork.
So, she thought that Alastor would be insufferable about his new "partner" and decided to poke at it first, considering that she had to bring that up anyway. But Alastor's reaction wasnt' what she expected, at all. It set her off and she started looking closely at him...
Alastor didn't know Vox applied for being an overlord. If he knew, he probably said something different and Vox would've gotten a protege status. But Vox decided that he doesn't need to tell Alastor about it and that Alastor would tell how "good" he is, and they don't need to discuss it. When Carmilla crumpled that paper, Alastor understood what had happened. And like, There aren't many overlords at this point, it's been like 30 years since Alastor wiped out old folks, so they need more new overlords. And Carmilla didn't have any real reason to deny Vox's application. But she did anyway, because Alastor didn't want him here, and that fact kinda gave Alastor feeling that he has an ally. Like, Rosie is good and all, but she owns his soul and also fucked up the last time they've seen each other.
Not like Alastor is gonna tell anything to Carmilla, but the fact that him not wanting to see Vox is enough to deny a potential new owerlord is... comforting.
And Carmilla can see and understand much more than Alastor realises.

today i decided to take a break from the comic and procrastinate... this is what i did procrastinating.
Yeah, i'm taking a break from the comic by making a fucking animation.
keeping their heights somewhat consistent was the hardest part, bc after the kiss Alastor shrunk lol. Good thing i noticed.
don't look at the details, it becomes cursed.
I need to try and make, like, animation where i don't draw each frame from zero, instead i copy and redraw only what is supposed to move... should be easier to keep sizes consistent.
at first i was going to draw them dancing, hense the big unused space, but Vox decided that nah, he wants to put his tongue in Alastor's mouth. Fucking bastard. Well, i guess, i'll do dance next time i have the mood for drawing 100500 frames for a 10 second animation (it's actually 57 frames, rate 8 frames per second)

Alright, enough people have noticed, so i'll say it. Yes, i made colors not as vibrant as before. An i'm glad that it's noticeable.

This part isn't much, but i can't make a 10 pages part, as fast at this point of a comic, where the enthusiasm of wanting to tell the story starts to fad, and the excitement of the ending isn't within reach yet. I need more comments.

Vox sees their situationship through pink glasses... in case of this art, quite literally. But yeah, he's prefering to filter out all the details that don't play into his cute little picture of a happy couple.
I must disappoint some of you. Alastor isn't scheming anything at the moment
tldr, Alastor's "request" is technically a question, so it doesn't count as something vox must do for the deal. Yes i worded it like that on purpose. and, since i'm already throwing in the post all kinds of pictures, have a bonus sketch.
Alastor is just being that "throphy girlfriend" for Vox now. he's trying to force himself to enjoy touching, especially in more sexual context, kissing, and other "romantic" stuff that Vox wants. Exposure therapy, except it doesn't work without normal therapy going along. Though, he is trying to set at least some boundaries... sometimes... and doesn't let Vox walk all over him too much. But still, he only snaps when Vox becomes too pushy or demanding, mostly allowing him do way too much shit for it to be anywhere near "healthy" relationship (as if they had a chance for one to begin with). I have a few pages sketched where Al snaps and he has something to threaten Vox with too (and it was effective couple of times...). But still, Vox is mostly dragging him around and bragging (not literally but you've got the idea).
I promise this won't last too long. But why Alastor is being like that? Welp, he's got a real legit depression, and now he really needs some pills and therapy for that to be cured.
And once again NO VOX ISN'T WEARING ALASTOR'S SHIRT, HE'S JUST COPYING ALASTOR. He thinks the little thing Alastor wearing is sexy so he got himself one that is 100% sexual LOL. And Alastor's one is for his posture or smth.
BUT SPEAKING OF, i absolutely LOVE how you look into the meaning of Vox getting a red shirt and Alastor switching to white. And while Alastor's change was with deeper meaning indeed, change for Vox was basically... well, Al destroyed his sweater when killed him... LOL. But i love the analysis!!!
Also, funny that some people only now noticed that Vox is taller, when Alastor's body language changed to be more reserved and stiff. What depression and trauma does to a man...
AND ALSO i'm glad that no that many people fell for the bait (but some sure did.... that's upsetting). But mostly the response is "EW GET THAT BOX AWAY FROM AL AND SHOT IT 100500 TIMES", even from hardcore radiostatic shippers. I love you. So, this is the controversial part of the comic. Funny, how literally in the previous part i got a comment that was like "finally a story about abuse that doesn't end up in a romance" and then i make this part... 🤣🤣 DON'T WORRY, THIS IS STILL RADIOSILENCE, ALASTOR IS STILL GETTING OUT, AND VOX IS STILL GETTING HIS KARMA.

Interesting, how many people suggested that Rosie's demon form is a mantis. I thought more about black widow lol. Someone pointed out that the hair thingies look kinda like angel wings too. Which, i guess, works if we go with a theory that she's a fallen angel.
But whatever she is, an angel, a human, a hellborn, evil herself, she still isn't perfect and can make mistakes. She is hurting for Alastor, she doesn't want him to be hurt anymore, but in attempt to protect, only ends up hurting him too. We can blame this one on Vox too though, he showed up there, scared her, scared Alastor, made them both do stupid things out of fear.
Speaking of Alastor he's... he's not well. He's too hurt, scared and tired to think rationally, and the first option he sees to minimize the pain is to please the abuser... a pattern, he's very familiar with from his life... And what makes it worse, he saw this method work in a short run. Rosie also knows this pattern, and she hates to see that Alastor also falls into this trap, like many others. But she can't do anything withour hurting him, and after all, he's right. She can't keep Vox away from Alastor forever. She can't lock Alastor in cannibal town (well, she can, but at what cost?), and Vox also isn't too stupid or weak, he can learn to fight the cannibals, or avoid them, and then... Well, let's not go in there eheh ^^"
Thing about the scars, many people asked, so, i have a headcanon, that injuries tied to especially strong emotions and traumatic moments take longer to heal, time proportional to the said emotions. So, yeah, injuries from that night will take a while to fully disappear.
And NO IT WASN'T ALASTOR'S SHIRT VOX WAS WEARING wow, the amount of people who thought that is hillarious. Alastor's shirt would be too small for vox come on, people, think!!! Plus it has different collar. Vox is but copying him, as he always does. I know the fat Alastor has different shirt now is kinda plays into the idea that Vox took his old shirt, bur he didn't okay? x)) it's different color even.
Also yes they live together since year 1, before the first time, then Alastor didn't move out in hopes that his constant requests would make vox break the deal.

That took longer than i wanted, idk, for some reason i couldn't focus in drawing these days. And then i sketched new pages again, so i had to cut this part... damn, i was hoping to keep 28 parts for the 28 STABS joke or whatever... we'll see maybe i'll fuse couple of other shorter parts, or rearrange the pages, something.
Alastor is... pretty much destroyed at the moment. he has no strengh to keep any mask at all, not even his smile. He'd hate to be so vulnerable, but can't help it, and he doesn't even have any emotional capacity left for hating that. and Rosie is literally the only person in Hell, who won't use his vulnerable state against him. Also, his text is smaller, because he speaks quieter 🥺.
Bonus page is just as canon as normal parts, it just doesn't fit the tone of other psrts, that's why it's a bonus. Al leaves immediately without even letting vox comprehend that he's the one who did that. I mean, vox can put it together, but at least Alastor doesn't have to deal with Vox screaming and cussing at him right now
Sorry to disappoint though, it will regenerate, and faster than you may think. But i thought yall may need a little something to breathe and have a laugh, and feel little bit vingicated, because right now angst only going to pile up, until Alastor figures out the solution.

Right now we're moving towards the "crisis" in the structure. Don't worry, it won't be anything near as shocking to what was in the last part. but it gonna get quite... depressing. For the most of us.
So, to address something. I've been noticing comments like "well, Alastor is a bad person, he killed people in life, he's torturing souls on the broadcast, so, he deserved this". NO. NO-NO-NO-NO-NO, MILLION TIMES NO! NO!

But no matter what he did, he doesn't deserve this. Nobody does! Because if you find any, ANY reason to justify rape, you give offenders the excuses to keep doing it, and getting away with it. You siding with people who blame the girls for getting raped, because they were wearing "provocative" clothes or smth. YESS I LOVE THE THEORY THAT ALASTOR STITCHED HIS SMILE HIMSELF OR SMTH, i know that it's probably not true in the show, bc stitches done in a way that wouldn't hold his smile up, but keep it from ripping further. But i had this headcanon before season 2, and it fits perfectly here.
Ok, im just imagining, far in the future, when he would feel like he's healed enough, he'd remove the stitches and be able to smile again without them 🥺🥺🥺
I LOVE all the readings and interpretations of Vox's gift in the prev part, like DAMN. Just saying that all i thought when i came up with this was "hm, Vox would, bc Alastor wasn't around and he had nothing to do, so he decided to make him a gift bc he was bored". But i just adore every deep meaning you found.
