Coming back to this with an actual reply instead of just tags because it's Story Time.
Earlier today I had an appointment with my physiotherapist. Young guy, gotta be around my age. Anyway, I wasn't even wearing obvious Hazbin merch, but I was wearing a t-shirt that screams 'nerd' and a Hazbin Hotel key keychain that I transformed into a necklace.
Physio looks at my necklace and asks if it's a Kingdom Hearts thing, so I reply no, and he's visibly bummed and says that KH is his favourite video game. We go through some of the actual medical stuff and 5 minutes later while he's torturing massaging my arm he talks about KH again, how it's his and his brother's favourite game and they both talked about picking out their favourite key from it and having it tattooed...
So, y'know, I immediately know I'm in the presence of a Fellow Nerd, so that's great.
"So then, what is the key from, if I may ask?" he asks me.
So, seeing as he has established himself as a Fellow Nerd now, I start telling him about Hazbin Hotel. We talk about some other shows, too. Side note, I think he may start watching Vinland Saga because of me, which is good, because everyone should watch Vinland Saga in my opinion. But I digress.
He asks if I have any fun plans for the week or weekend, so I say that if my arm heals up well from the strain injury he is treating that very moment, I'm hoping to make more progress on my animated video. He's interested, so I tell him about it. Even show him part of it because he was asking.
("Oh, that's really cool!" "Thank you! I think so, too. I love animating. But, haha, making art for my hobby, writing for my hobby as well as my job, playing video games... You can see how I ended up here." "If you don't do the necessary exercises to balance that out... yep.")
Appointment comes to an end, he gets behind his computer to access his schedule and we plan the next appointment. Great. I grab my bag, and suddenly hear: "Ah, Hazbin Hotel is a musical?"
The second he had an opening, this man looked up Hazbin Hotel. I doubt he's gonna watch it, said he doesn't have Prime Video, but he looked it up and seemed interested.
Because one of his patients was wearing the hotel key around their neck.
...So yeah, absolutely wear your merch if it makes you happy! You might introduce people to something that will bring them joy, too.
