Urania (Οὐρανία, Ourania; meaning ‘heavenly’ or ‘of heaven’) was the ‘Muse of Astronomy’ in Greek mythology. She was the daughter of Zeus and also a great granddaughter of Uranus. She dressed in a cloak embroidered with stars and kept her eyes and attention focused on the heavens. Urania was also able to foretell the future by the arrangement of the stars.
