[ OOC ] I need an AU thread where Vander actually succeeds in drowning Silco in the river, and he dies instead and then becomes the werebeast. I need this not only because I have a vested interest in beasts that should be terrifying just looking like sad, wet rats, but also because the story would be SO different if Vander lived instead.

Silco turning The Last Drop into a nightclub is wild because he did not have to do that. Every other decision he made after killing Vander was strategic - increasing the production of Shimmer, aligning himself with the Chembarons, even raising Jinx (whether that was his intention or not) - but transforming Vander’s cozy bar into a club is such a petty “fuck you” move and I think he’s so funny for that

Sorry to take over your post, but I don't think it was so much a "fuck you" as it was that he couldn't stand to see the place so empty. He's used to all the life and laughter and good memories that the Last Drop held. To see it so empty and dark and devoid of life reminds him far too much of everyone and everything that he's lost. Turning it into a club means that around all the noise and light and sound he can pretend that Vander is still in there, somewhere. And if he can't see him, it's only because there's too many other people in the way.

I can't remember if I ever mentioned this anywhere or not but the reason my portrayal of Silco was born blind in his left eye instead of having it jacked up in the fight is because eye gore squicks me the fuck out. I gagged every single time Silcy-poo needed a shot, without fail. How the fight happens and how I envision the betrayal coming from that is all based around the concept I had of Vander promising Silco that while other may try to take advantage of his blind side, he never would.

Until he did. He nearly guts Silco instead of going for his eye, and he still ends up in the water. He has horrendous scarring on his abdomen because of it, and it was by the grace of someone nearby having clean water to literally wash off his innards and a medkit to put him back together that he lived. He did contract an infection and fever, but a bitch can't be kept down so he was able to shake it. But that is also why he's still so rail thin. Body has a hard time digesting food around his mangled insides.

This is of course excluding any Vander that I RP with. We can always discuss how to work around my squick.

under the piercing gaze of the strange male, viktor shrinks a little, yet there's a spark of curiosity deep within, burning with a thousand questions that he's too shy to say outwardly. what did this man see in him? why had he taken an interest in him? what did this man foresee him becoming in his future? so many questions, yet none dared to leave his tongue. instead he dabbled in silence, extracting the liquid from the flower as silco lingered nearby, seemingly intrigued by the work and its progress. he'd not been working on it for very long, granted, three months at most since returning to the scientist, but they'd already made some headway.

the young teen pauses as he hears the man speak, breaking the silence and all concentration that viktor had, head turning to cast his gaze over at him. it takes him a little off guard, stunned for a moment before scrambling to find an answer to that question. it's easy to answer in hindsight but being put on the spot is enough to make anyone's mind go blank. ❝ the answer to curing disease. ❞ to saving people, so that no one has to lose someone they love to the grey like he had. no child should have to lose a mother like that. there's a small shrug as his head turns away, voice growing quieter. ❝ maybe this'll save people. ❞

His easy expression softens into a frown. Was he this idealistic in his youth? Was he this idealistic now? Silco thinks. He thinks about being born blind in one eye, and thinks about Singed's daughter, and most of all he thinks about Zaun. He thinks about what a bright mind like this could do if pointed in the right direction; how Piltover would quake if his fellow Zaunites were well enough to resist. He thinks this might be the answer he's been looking for.

He knows it.

"An admirable cause." He agreed, resting his hand on the boy's shoulder. "You know of Orianna. The girl who sleeps until her cure is found. I trust that you understand then that our doctor does not care for the people in Zaun, save for one. Whatever work you are doing here is finite. Whatever cure you seek will be taken from you, and you will be left with nothing. I know this, because I too once trusted Singed with something important to me." He lets such a fact hang in the air, dangling like bait.

"If saving our people is truly what drives you, I urge you to reconsider with whom you align yourself."

He sighs, raking his fingers through dark locks that are, unfortunately, starting to grey. A strand here and there; stress is most likely to kill him. He takes out a cigarette and a lighter, but catching movement out of the corner of his good eye deters him from lighting it. Ah, the boy from earlier, @hexcrsd. "I meant what I said in there," He says, plucking the cigarette from his lips. He gestures with it as he speaks, a habit that refuses to fade from existence. "You're a bright lad. [OOC] My portrayal of Silco is now transgender. If you don't like it, uh, idk? Leave? I also corrected some errors in his bio, and added a little bit re: his recreational use of shimmer and some of the downsides. As a note: I will not roleplay Silco as having to use shimmer injections in his eye. He was simply born blind in that eye. For any Vanders I'm following, we'll have to work out some other injury for the Divorce. Needles in eyes / eye gore / etc is a real bad trigger of mine, but I love this character too much to not play him.
