She forgets, if only for a second. Lets herself get lost in his scent and his taste. Vincent Tendoy was like a drug to her, and she still didnât understand why he had this effect on her. Ari was convinced it was a werewolf thing, some weird mating shit. Taking a steadying breath, she holds his face between her hands chill from the wind. It was biting at her nose too, turning it a bright pink.Â
âIâm going to die,â she says. And itâs not a concern, the way she expresses it. She says it like itâs a fact, because it is. She saw it. âWeâre all going to die.â
The dreams come rushing back to her, somehow more vivid than her visions. His dead body, her own. Leoâs and Tsuraâs. Her mom and dad. Lily. Looking into his eyes finally, she lets him see her fear. It is palpable, and it is full of dread. âWe have to go. Now.â
Seeing her now was a blessing, but the news that came with her made him wish they could have been human. How sweet it would be to live in ignorance of the worldâs destruction. Vinny took her hands and kissed her forehead, âWeâre not going to let that happen. I will shred through anyone that comes after you.â He set a building on fire for Tsura, but he would destroy the Earth just for Ari.
Vinny looked back toward the small Haven he called home for several months now. The impending doom sparked something in him and he needed her to give him time, âPlease tell me I can say goodbye to her? LilyâŠâ
