𝐇𝐄𝐑     𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄     𝐈𝐒     𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐘     𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐓,     a     tone    that     the     young    witch     isn’t     expecting.     on    normal     circumstances,     she’s    usually     met     with    hostility     and     distaste     upon    confrontations     of     unfamiliar     witches    in     the     town.    many     don’t     want    to     waste     time    in     being     polite.     she    had     strolled     up    to     the     girl    (  who     looks     around    her     age  )     with     authority     painting     her    face     HARDENED.     however,     upon    her     surprised     interpretation     of    why     davina     is    here     in     the    first     place,     a    gentle     smile     flirts    at     her     lips.    her     fingers     untangle     from    each     other,     deep    green     optics     observing     the    area     in     which    she     was     doing    the     spell.        ❝  it’s     nice    to     meet     you   as     well.  ❞        although     her    voice     is     lighter,     there    is     still     audible    hesitance     behind     her    words.     she     takes    a     step     closer,    beginning     to     eliminate     the    distance     between     the    other.     despite     her    desire     to    make     friends     and    be     a     normal     nineteen     year    old     —     she    still     has     business     to    handle.     an     affair    that     the     other    witches     are     looking    for     an     update    on     upon     her    return.        ❝  you     have     to    be     careful.     doing    spells.     the     witches    in     this     town    aren’t     looking     for    any     unwelcome     visitors.  ❞        she    understands     tourists     wanting    to     come     into    one     of     the    most     magically-renowned     cities    in     the     world.    something     nudges     at    her     (something     like     guilt)     for     inevitably     ruining    the     fun     for    a     young     witch     like    herself.    

PHOEBE  CAN  UNDERSTAND  WHY  the  woman  needed  to  check  on  her  and  see  what  she  was  up  to  .  if  anything  ,  she  respected  her  for  taking  her  duties  seriously  .  it  was  just  nice  for  once  to  not  be  met  with  hostility  when  entering  foreign  grounds  ---  she  never  wanted  trouble  with  others  .  a  nod  is  given  to  the  other  witch  as  she  explains  what  the  other  witches  were  thinking  .  it  made  perfect  sense  ,  and  the  nephilim  considered  herself  lucky  that  the  regent  of  the  covens  was  actually  a  nice  person  .  phoebe  could  sense  that  this  must  be  a  very  tight-knit  coven  ,  wary  of  ALL  outsiders  .  a  part  of  her  yearned  for  that  sense  of  belonging  ---  but  having  people  close  to  her  was  always  dangerous  .  she  would  forever  be  on  the  outside  ,  occasionally  peeking  in  .   ‘   yes  ,  i  completely  understand  that  ---  i  didn’t  mean  to  cause  any  problems   .  witches  can  definitely  be  territorial  ,  not  that  i  blame  them  .  i’m  phoebe  ,  by  the  way  .  ’

I was created to serve him.“ created to serve his cause, whatever that was, there is a frown in the archangel’s vessel, as if he doesn’t understand what’s wrong with the idea. “but of course, you and humanity think of Him as a puppeteer. such a human concept.“ he had been around death, the darkness, the light, primordials, beings grander than all of this. “you have a cause, and you serve it. I believe humans call that…motivation.”

‘  WE  ARE  NOT  SUPPOSED  to  serve  our  parents  ---  they  created  us  so  it's  their  responsibility  to  look  out  for  us  .  a  lot  of  the  time  they  don't  ,  though  .   ’  phoebe  sighs  softly  ,  gaze  settled  on  the  archangel  before  her  .  ‘  it's  more  of  a  fact  than  anything  else  .  sure  ,  we  all  need  our  motivations  ---  it's  how  we  get  up  in  the  morning  ,  but  don't  you  think  you're  taking  it  to  the  extreme  ?  you  can  rest  too  ,  you  know  ---  the  universe  won’t  implode  if  you  decide  to  have  a  day  off  .   ’

𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍."  eyes close, thinking back, before his fall, before humanity came and ruin his favorite world, his favorite place. rebellious nature was always a part of him, but he would’ve followed God anywhere, everywhere, if he had said the word. he would’ve jumped to hell itself, if he had been told it was what God wished. but things were different. “none of you know what it felt like…to let his light shine upon me. I’m part of him, the lightbringer. blinding, terrifying, beautiful.” if he could cry, he would, the thought alone makes the archangel only long for it more. “how could He ask me to love anyone above him after being in His presence?” no, that would never be possible. a pause then, eyes fall down to the nephilim before him and the archangel tilt his head, as if confused. “how curious.”

‘   MAYBE  YOU  BELIEVE  THAT  ,  but  it's  not  fair  on  you  to  be  treated  like  a  monster  because  you  stood  up  for  yourself  .   ’  perhaps  she  struck  a  nerve  ,  but  if  phoebe  was  anything  ,  then  it  was  honest  .  she  knew  that  all  of  the  angels  idolized  their  father  ,  but  from  what  she  was  hearing  ---  he  seemed  pretty  awful  .  regardless  of  being  light  and  pure  ,  he  treated  his  son  in  ways  that  phoebe  personally  couldn’t  forgive  .  she  hated  abusive  parents  .  ‘   is  it  really  that  strange  ?   ’
