Just Upgrading to JellyBean 4.1.2
Yeah! Back to tumblr, I bring a really great news, for me. Haha. I just uprgraded my SGS2 from ICS 4.0.4 to JB 4.1.2. That's not an official upgrade in my country, but I dont need to root my phone to flashing the ROM because its an official upgrade (or leaked upgrade) but not arrived yet in my country. Well, bloody hell with that, now I can feel the experience of Peanut Butter, wait, I mean Project Butter. *Well, its name really reminds me to nutella. :p
Anyway, I should tell you that this upgrade is a must for your SGS2 if you wont "upgrade" your handheld to SGS3. Well, you cant get what SGS3 offers, but with this JB 4.1.2, you'll get enough to stay with SGS2. This version is really smooth, I almost cant find any bugs. You'll get a new lock screen with three possible shortcuts (this is just like my SGNote 10.1 lockscreen), a new homescreen transition animation, a new notification bar (really improved and I like it), a new application menu (it gives an extra tab for widgets), and you'll get many SGS3 features just like Smartstay, Popup Play, and some SGS3 special widgets. Looks like you get a new phone, dude! :D
The main thing that you'll get from this upgrade issss.... PROJECT BUTTER. Yeah! It makes this handheld really smooth that you'll think that your SGS2 has four cores on its processor. Haha... Different with its predecessor OS ICS, JB really offers you a new experience of lag-free handheld. Some new transition animations are really smooth. Lag no more... :D
How about batery? Well, this is what makes you cant compare between SGS2 and SGS3, and between old and new device, of course. But I think, after one week using JB, it gives a better batery usage than ICS. And for some helps, I use 2X Batery app.
To sum them up, Upgrading your SGS2 to JB is really an important thing to do. Although in your country it's not an official upgrade, you should upgrade it by searching it up on Uncle Google. Well I dont know whether this flashing will stop your warranty or not. Every unofficial move may be erase your warranty, i think. But meeh, my warranty period is ended this month so, whatever, haha.
Will report any issues soon, if I even can find it (I hope not!) :D
Update (Jan 28) : Still didnt found any bugs. Dude, this is awesome. :D
