I was planning on not going to FanExpo this year. I can’t super afford it, and there was almost nothing I wanted to see or do. Until this morning when they announced Zoe Perry and Lance Barber are going to be there.

Hi! Long time no see, right? I'm sorry that I don't really write anymore, but it's still 16 years since the introduction of Amy Farrah Fowler, so here's a story about Shamy.

Amy slipped out of her son's bedroom. It was nearly ten, and she felt like she might collapse before she made it back to bed. She couldn't remember a time that she had genuinely been so exhausted. At least Leonard had been easy to get back to sleep. Just some monster spray and about half a story before he was fast asleep back snug in his bed. Her head had been killing her since before she'd gotten home from work. At least she was finally able to get into bed and sleep it off.

Sheldon lie in his bed reading a book (adult) Leonard had recommended him about a young man and his cat adventuring around an intergalactic reality show that sounded a bit like a D&D campaign when his wife came in. The book was silly, but Sheldon was still having fun reading it. The next book in the series was already lying next to him on the nightstand for when he finished the current one.

“He go down okay?” Sheldon asked Amy about Leonard as she crawled into the bed next to Sheldon.

“Yes,” she muttered as she rolled over and pulled the blankets up over her shoulder to go to sleep.

“Amy? Is everything okay?” Sheldon asked Amy. It wasn't her tone or anything else that caught his attention. It was the fact that she didn't kiss him goodnight. They did that every night, so he didn't think she just forgot. He thought back to the early days of their relationship when they didn't kiss. When they were supposedly just friends as if Sheldon hadn't fallen head over heels for his wife the first day they met.

Amy just sighed and settled down into the bed a bit more. She didn't want to get into it right now. She was too tired to fight, but she was also frustrated that her husband was so standoffish with the kids. He almost never put them down to bed if she was around. She just wished that he'd be a more involved father. He did his fair share of the cleaning, but sometimes it was almost like he was afraid of the children.

“Amy?” Sheldon tried again. He put down his book and started rubbing Amy's back. She loved physical touch in a way he didn't understand, but that didn't mean he couldn't provide it. In fact, this was a move he often went to when he wanted to make love with his wife. Right now, he was just trying to bring her comfort. It hadn't been more than three weeks since the last time they made love. He would be satisfied for at least a few more weeks yet.

Amy couldn't read his mind, so she didn't know that. She thought after all of the rest of her rough day, he was now asking for sex.

“Sheldon, I'm not in the mood right now,” Amy snipped at him.

“Why are you mad at me?” Sheldon asked. Her tone left no mysteries as to her attitude.

“I'm not mad at you. I just don't want to have sex right now,” Amy told him, which wasn't quite true. She was mad at him, but he wasn't going to pick up more of the child care duties. It wasn't worth arguing about. Not when Amy was exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep.

“Yes, you are,” Sheldon argued. He didn't like being lied to. Even by his wife who was usually the exception to his list of rules.

“Okay. It would've been nice if you had put Leonard back to bed. I've had a headache all day, and I just really wanted to go to bed, but I knew I couldn't because I knew you would just wake me up to put the kids down. Well, they're down now, and I still can't go to bed because you have your hands all over me, and I'm not in the mood.”

Amy felt a little bad about snapping at Sheldon. He was a good husband and father even if he didn't always do everything perfectly.

Sheldon was shocked by what she was saying. He would have absolutely put their toddler back to bed if he had known. Wouldn't he? Though he couldn't remember the last time Sheldon had put his son to bed. Had it really been over six months? It couldn't be.

“Oh no,” Sheldon said in a panic. “I've become my father,” he added quietly after another moment. It was something that he'd never wanted to do. Or at least this element of his father. Sheldon wanted to be an engaged father. He'd sworn it to Amy when Leonard was born. Now he'd broken that promise. Actually, he'd broken his promise months ago. It was just so easy to let Amy take care of the kids. She was so much better at it than he was. But that was no excuse. He felt like a failure.

Sheldon climbed out of bed and went to the kitchen. It was too late to put the kids to bed. They were both asleep in their bedrooms, but Sheldon could still take care of his wife. He grabbed a couple pain killers and a glass of water to take back to the bedroom. He set them on the table next to Amy's side of the bed.

“I'm sorry,” he admitted.

“I'm just having a bad day,” Amy assured him. She didn't think Sheldon was a bad father by any stretch. He was just used to putting himself first. Amy knew he was like that when she married him. She still knew it when they had Leonard. And she really understood that when Mary Elizabeth was born. It was who Sheldon was, and she didn't think she could change it. Any change in Sheldon usually took years and lots of effort. Since the kids were born, Amy just didn't have it in her to put the work into her husband anymore. It was usually just easier to take care of the kids.

Sheldon climbed back into their bed, though he nearly decided to go sleep in his office to give Amy space. She didn't ask for it, so he stayed, but he kept his hands off of her to allow her to go to sleep. Maybe they could talk in the morning, but right now he just wanted to make sure she had what she wanted.

When Amy woke up the next morning, Sheldon wasn't in bed with her, but that didn't seem suspicious to her at all. It wasn't like he just usually lie around in bed all day. He was probably off trying to win his second Nobel. She decided to go grab the kids and make them breakfast.

Only that's where Sheldon was. He was in the kitchen with Leonard sitting at the table eating a bowl of cereal half spilled all over the table and Mary Elizabeth was in her high chair babbling at her father who was feeding her oatmeal. He was currently telling their daughter to open up for the choo choo train with chugga chugga choo choo noises. Mary Elizabeth still dodged the spoon, but Sheldon just wiped her face and tried again.

“Hey, Mommy,” Sheldon said when Amy walked in. “How's your head?”

“It's fine. Want me to take over?” Amy asked her husband as she walked over to them. She reached out for the spoon in Sheldon's hand.

“Nope. I have it,” Sheldon said to his wife with a smile despite the fact that Mary Elizabeth was turning her head away from yet another oncoming train. At least this time about half the spoonful made it into the eight month old's mouth.

“Uhh,” Amy said in confusion. It was Saturday morning, so if the kids were taken care, she was a little lost in what to do. That had mostly been her Saturday mornings for years.

“There's coffee in the pot,” Sheldon told Amy. He never drank the stuff, but he started the pot for Amy every morning all the same.

After Amy poured herself some coffee, she grabbed some fruit off the counter, and wiped up the spilled milk before sitting at the kitchen table. Leonard climbed out of his chair and into Amy's lap. She helped him hold his cereal as he did. Then Amy wrapped one arm around her son to hold him close to her while he ate.

“Thanks for getting them up, Sheldon,” Amy said.

Sheldon looked at her for a minute without saying anything. He then looked down at the ground. If Amy didn't know any better, she'd say he was embarrassed. “It was no problem,” he said without looking up.

“And it will continue to not be a problem,” Sheldon added after he looked up. He was renewing his promise that he would be an active father in his children's lives. He knew he might not always understand his kids, but he made a choice to make them with Amy. He needed to step up and help take care of them.

Then Sheldon got up to clean up Mary Elizabeth. Amy tilted her head up for a kiss as Sheldon walked by. He leaned down and gave her a peck on her lips. The make up kiss for the night before. He felt like maybe he really earned that one.

Otherwise it's mostly just here. I used to have a Master List of everything, but I haven't updated it in a really long time, and also I have like 900 stories. That just starts to get hard to organize at that point.

I think part of the reason that writing Sheldon and Amy is so hard now is that I can’t just drop them into a story we already know. I have to imagine everything they are up to now.

I nearly tried to drop them somewhere in PHM because Rocky and Grace are all I care about right now.

They’d make pretty solid Eridians, I guess. Get it? They are rocks.

It’s been twelve years since Sheldon kissed Amy on that damn train?!? How?

“This is the last one,” Amy said to her husband as she rubbed her very pregnant belly. Her back was already cramped up, and Amy just wanted to stay in bed for as long as she could. She wasn't in labor yet, but it couldn't be much further away.

“You know I want thirteen more,” Sheldon reminded her, but it was mostly a joke these days. Being the father to an energetic toddler had really worn away at the idea of fifteen children. Fifteen Leonards would probably kill both of them, and Sheldon was fine with just two. Still, he liked to tease his wife about it.

“You will have to carry all thirteen then,” Amy told him. Her pregnancy with Leonard had gone relatively smoothly. A little morning sickness in the beginning, but that was really it. However, this pregnancy with their daughter had been much rougher on her. She supposed this was why a lot of people do this in their twenties or early thirties.

“Can I get you anything?” Sheldon asked as he rubbed Amy's back. He never knew exactly how to help her, but he did know that her muscles were sore and this helped a little.

“Can you take care of Leonard today?” Amy asked.

“I've been taking care of Leonard since 2003,” Sheldon joked.

“Our Leonard,” Amy clarified. She really didn't need Sheldon taking off to go play with his best friend all day under the guise of some “misunderstanding.” Though at least Sheldon wasn't one of those golfing husbands who just disappeared on the weekends. Well, other than the weekend of Comic Con. That was the one weekend that he wouldn't be around. Luckily that wasn't for several months still. Long after their daughter would be born.

Sheldon just chuckled and climbed out of their bed. He knew exactly who Amy was talking about, and he had no problem spending the better part of the day with his son. Sheldon enjoyed the company of the boy quite a bit more than he'd ever expected. Sheldon thought that Leonard would largely be an annoyance until he was at least old enough to read comic books, but instead Sheldon loved watching the little changes as his son started to become a fully fledged human all on his own.

Leonard was awake and playing with his Lego blocks on the floor of his bedroom when Sheldon arrived in the room. Sheldon assumed this was the case since he wasn't woken by the three year old jumping on him this morning.

“Want to help me make Mommy breakfast?” Sheldon asked his son.

Leonard nodded and ran over to grab his father's hand. The boy didn't speak much, but he'd been through a whole litany of speech therapy. He could speak. He just didn't particularly like to. That was fine with Sheldon. Sheldon knew what it was like to be a bit odd, so he never judged his son for being anything like him. The boy was half him after all.

The two went downstairs to the kitchen to start making Amy breakfast. Sheldon helped Leonard wash his hands before giving him some melon and a butter knife to cut it into pieces. It would be a mess that Sheldon would need to clean up after, but Leonard always looked so proud when he was able to help. Sheldon liked to channel his own mother's patience when caring for his son. If his mother could tolerate the child who took the refrigerator apart to stop a noise, Sheldon could clean up some spilled melon from the floor when his son was done cutting it up.

“What should we do after breakfast?” Sheldon asked his son as he stirred the pancake mix.

Leonard just shrugged his tiny shoulders. Sheldon was thinking about a trip to the park with regular sized Leonard and Howard if the other men were up to it.

Just as the pile of pancakes was enough for the three of them, Amy came down the stairs to join her husband and son.

“Thank you, honey,” Amy said. She loved that Sheldon had been picking up the slack around the house since she had been pregnant. She joined Leonard at the table. She ruffled her son's hair a little as she sat next to him at the table. In the most little Sheldon way, he fixed his hair before setting back to his task of cutting up melon.

“Do you need any help?” Amy asked Sheldon. She looked down at the pieces of fruit that had been dropped by her son. She didn't want to clean it up, but she would if she needed to.

“No. We have this. Right, Leonard?” Sheldon asked his son.

The boy nodded, but he didn't look up from his task.

It wasn't Mother's Day or her birthday. It was just a Saturday and her boys were taking such good care of her. She felt so lucky. Until her back cramped up again and then she felt like maybe she could be a little luckier.

I was just thinking about how wildly over protective Sheldon would’ve been if baby Leonard was born in 2020 or 2021.

Not that he wouldn’t be over protective the rest of the time.

It’s 2025. I really need someone to fix the Big Bang Theory syndication package. They continue to run The Misinterpretation Agitation and The Prom Equivalency in the wrong order with the wrong descriptions every time.

It drives me insane. And more importantly, it would also drive Nobel Laureate Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper insane as well.

I have a question for people who have read or continue to read my old stories. I have a story from 2013 called The Weekend Perplexity that has Neil Gaiman as a minor character in it. If you haven’t heard, Neil Gaiman has had some pretty horrendous allegations against him right now, and I feel a little gross leaving that story up as is.

Should I leave it as is? Delete the story? Edit it to make the author Cory Doctorow? Any other suggestions?

In hundreds of stories that I wrote, I only ever included two real people as characters (the other was Felicia Day if you’re curious). I included him before he was even actually on the show. I really couldn’t have imagined something like this coming up. Anyway, thank you for your time reading this.

I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but I’m bummed that the final season of Young Sheldon didn’t get any Emmy nominations.

Sheldon sat next to Amy Farrah Fowler in his apartment while they watched a movie together. It was just part of their regular date night like any other. However, he couldn't focus on the movie. Instead, he was thinking about if he adjusted his arm about twelve degrees, it would come in contact with the arm of his girlfriend next to him.

This was a problem for Sheldon. Not so much the fact that he wasn't paying attention to the movie. This had been Amy's turn to pick, and Sheldon really didn't care for the romantic comedies that Amy preferred. The problem for Sheldon was really that he wanted to touch his girlfriend. Not in the way that Leonard and Penny touched or the way that Howard would wrap his arm around Bernadette's waist. Sheldon just wanted a tiny amount of contact.

That wasn't him though. Normally people touching him made Sheldon want to scrub the feeling off of his skin. Someone put a hand on his back to guide him out of the way at the grocery store last week If he thought about it, Sheldon could still feel it and it made him want to pour gasoline on his skin. There was something different about Amy. When he touched her, it made him feel a little spark. Maybe happiness? Even hugs from his Meemaw or sister were barely tolerated, but a little bump of Amy's arm against his sent Sheldon's heart pounding.

Amy laughed at the movie. She leaned forward with the movement, and Sheldon saw his opportunity. He adjusted his arm the required twelve degrees, and Amy's arm bumped into his as she moved back into place.

“Oh. Sorry,” She said with a small apologetic smile toward him and moved her arm back away from Sheldon. She knew how much he hated to be touched, and tried to give him the amount of space he required.

Sheldon's heart pounded in the most pleasant way from the half second of touch. He hid his smile, but wondered if he could make it seem like an accident to move his arm the three more degrees toward Amy to reinitiate the contact. Though maybe the once was enough for tonight. He wasn't sure his heart could take it. Or maybe it was just that he didn't know what brought on this change.

The movie ended without Sheldon attempting to touch Amy's arm again. However, now that Amy was leaving, Sheldon wished he'd tried it again. Just for that little buzz of pleasure that Amy's touch gave him.

Sheldon walked Amy over to the door to say goodbye. He wanted to leave her with that little bit of a heady buzz that he got from the slight contact. Possibly he wanted a little bit of it for himself.

“Good night, Amy,” Sheldon said with a little rock of his knees. It brought his arm into full contact with Amy's arm. He couldn't have hidden his smile if he wanted to.

“Good night, Sheldon,” Amy said back. She didn't seem to enjoy the contact as much as he did, and Sheldon made a mental note to not touch Amy as much. He didn't want to push anything onto her that she didn't like. Still, Sheldon wouldn't mind if the feeling of this touch lingered for a couple days.

Amy left the apartment and started down the stairs. She hoped that one day Sheldon would want to kiss her goodnight or even not send her home at bedtime. He seemed to flinch if they even came into contact, but she enjoyed the time together all the same.

I still can’t believe that the Young Sheldon writers had Sheldon bragging about his “hot wife” (his words) just weeks before they reverted to Sheldon and Amy only having sex on her birthday.

Don’t do that to me, Steves. Not cool.
