My favorite Mario game1. I had inhaled every scrap of infomation about this game that a young boy could come by pre-Internet and the anticipation was driving me mad. I begged everyone who would listen for the game for Christmas. Mario 2 was my Red Rider. When Christmas came and I ripped open my presents and found it among them, I was overjoyed. I immediately went and played it for days straight until I had not only beat it, but completely mastered every level.

To this day I can still get through most of it on muscle memory alone when I fire it up on an emulator.

Yes, I know it wasn't originally a Mario game. Moving on... ↩︎
