this caption will be unrelated to this photo, but this session was the first time i really explored central park and now, when i see locations i recognize in movies, i get so excited. i saw this building in the back of an episode of "gossip girl" the other day. yes, i'm currently watching "gossip girl."

sometimes i just like how things line up. this photo is a good example. another example is that 7 years ago today, i bought a hot dog and a hamburger for Sam at Shake Shack to pay him back for all the referrals he sent me as I made my transition to the east coast from Texas. We call this day our burgeraversary. I'm glad it lined up like that.

I usually plan all of my instagram posts for the week at one time so sometimes i run out of ideas for captions. for this day, i just decided to pick one of my favorite photos and i was going to leave a minimalist comment like "this place" or leave a lyric or a quote so you'd think i was pretty deep, but instead i just rambled a little and now i'm done.

i love going to Rawlings Conservatory. 👻 It's a good reminder of how different different weather can breed different life. it also makes me wonder if the ghosts of all the houseplants i've killed are still in my house. watching me. waiting to get their revenge. maybe this is why, as you get older, your coffee gets cold so quickly? just a theory. just a really really good theory.

I don't share enough bridal party photos, but this was a fun group and i feel crazy lucky i got to spend some sunset time with them. :)

happy sunday! i wanted to share a photo of these stunners and also take a minute to talk about self care! real quick! do some of it! even if it's just using a fancy cup for your coffee or putting your phone on do-not-disturb for an hour. it's a sunday so be kind to yourself -- monday is in, like, a few hours, yo.

guess what! i'm at a camp today photographing two really cool people. also, i never went to camp as a kid, but I think i would've liked it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ i WAS in band for a short spell and I went to band camp for half a week (but was kicked out. long story, but i was a bad kid, basically). did YOU go to camp?

are you ready for autumn foliage? i am so ready. i've also started to enjoy more pumpkin spice flavored things because i've been reluctant to do it just because it's been synonymous with being "basic" and so i assumed it wasn't "for me." i realized i'm part of the problem that allows things like stereotypes to exist so i'm trying all the seasonal flavored stuff and you know what? not a big fan. but i found a new tea i like. *shrug*

I'll be back at this camp in a few days and I've been thinking about the other weddings I've shot there and feeling so good about it all. Camp days are here again. <3

🏈 All this red brick feels very Baltimore and I love it. P.S. this is the church on the lot where Edgar Allen Poe was buried. Did you know the football team, the Baltimore Ravens, were named after his poetry? Pretty tough, right?
